Q: Help! I accidentally threw away my instructions manual for my sterilizer! How much water needs to be in this and how long do you microwave it for?!
A: I actually went through the trouble of looking up the instructions and found depending on wattage you can microwave for 2, 4, or 6 minutes. The higher the wattage the lower the minutes.

Q: Can I use this to sterilize my medela bottles instead of using the medela steam bags?
A: Good afternoon, Christina. Most standard bottles (4oz-8oz) bottles will work with the Steam Guard Microwave Sterilizer. Note, only plastic bottles that are steam/boil safe and glass bottles that are thermo-resistant are to be used in the sterilizer.

Q: How many times can I use this before I should replace it with a new one? Works good for my purposes, I just wonder when it will have to be discarded for safety reasons, etc?
A: Good morning Kristen. The Steam Guard Microwave Sterilizer does not have a length of time/number of uses expiration date. As such, the unit can be used as long as there is no wear and tear or damage to the unit causing it to no longer function properly.

Q: How many times can you use the munchkin before you would need to replace it?
A: We have been using the sanitizer at least twice a day for 7 months and it is not showing any signs of damage (no cracked plastic, etc.). We make sure to follow the instructions and put the exact right amount of water and put it in the microwave for the right number of minutes. Varying from the instructions may cause damage faster.
submitted byChez - 9 years agoA: I have been using it for over 2 years. Still works great!!!

Q: Hi there is there supposed to be water left in the steamer when it's done? And should bottles have a little water from steam in them after it is done?
A: Good morning. Yes, when the Munchkin Steam Guard Microwave Bottle Sterilizer is done, water will remain in the unit. After each cycle, drain excess water and wipe the unit dry to prevent limescale buildup. The bottles will also have a little water from the steam after it is done.
