In present times, we are increasingly witnessing a loss of life, especially among animals and plants. Some species are becoming extinct, while others struggle to adjust to new habitats. About the Author

Michaela Fenske is a professor and chair of European Ethnology/Cultural Analysis at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Germany. Her research interests mainly concern environmental humanities (including multispecies studies, human-animal studies, sustainability studies) and narrative culture. One of her current research projects focuses on multispecies communities in gardens.
