JAMES TREFIL is a professor of physics at George Mason University, renowned for his ability to explain complex scientific concepts to a broad audience. He is the author of more than 50 books, including National Geographic's Space Atlas. MAYA WEI-HASS is an award-winning National Geographic science writer with a Ph.D. in earth science from The Ohio State University. RACHEL BROWN is a writer of prose and poetry who worked on the travel desk at National Geographic for five years.
