I love the Nature Made brand and have used these vitamins for years. They recently changed them to make them, so the size is a bit different but it’s fine. Four stars because they unfortunately don’t contain DHA.

    Fake Folate Made Me Nauseated

    3 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
    Emily - 1 year ago
Folic acid is not folate, which is what we really need. It is the synthetic man-made version. Some of our bodies don’t convert it to folate appropriately, and so it is not absorbed and becomes a toxin, which is why so many prenatal vitamins with folic acid make us feel sick. I had to stop taking these while pregnant, but they were okay to use in the months prior to becoming pregnant. I do prefer a vitamin without synthetic ingredients though.

These are my favorite prenatals. I took them for so long before becoming pregnant to help get my body ready for a baby. Then continued them throughout my pregnancy and while breastfeeding. I have a beautiful healthy baby boy now. These are great, gentle on the stomach (even when taken without food) and caused no issues. They have all the ingredients I wanted.

The “order of operations” of taking these are important! I’ve learned: take pill in the morning with water, drink my coffee, and then eat a full meal = no nausea. I’ve tried other times of day, but this seems to work the best. Hope this helps another mama to be :)

They cover all the basic needs in a prenatal except kinda low on the calcium amounts. The taste is kinda bad tho so I take it at night after eating before bed to help with my nausea

I’m happy with these prenatals. The price is right, which is a big deal for me. Other brands (even expensive ones) have given me tummy aches, increased nausea, or given me a niacin flush, which I hate! Only one daily, that’s a plus.

    Reliable Vitamins

    5 out of 5 stars
Maternity Mindset - 4 years ago
I have been taking these Naturemade vitamins (without DHA included) for a year before I got pregnant, and am continuing taking it during pregnancy. I liked that this didn't come with DHA because I wanted to take a separate DHA supplement from another brand so not having it included with this pill is great. I like that it is USP verified so I know that the ingredients listed is exactly what it contains. These pills have never made me nauseous even during my first trimester, it is very easy to swallow and has no scent or flavor at all. My baby is developing beautifully and passed the anatomy scan with flying colors. My diet lacks certain nutrients, I'm not a good cook but I try to eat healthy, so I'm glad that these vitamins help me fill in the necessary nutrients I need during my pregnancy. Also, in addition to these pills, and a separate DHA supplement, I also incorporate a separate calcium supplement since this, along with most prenatals, lack enough calcium needed for pregnancy.
