A: It a liquid. Unopened, it doesn't require refrigeration. After the can is opened, any unused portion needs to be refrigerated then used within five days or so (like regular milk).

I am so disappointed that you think you need to add all the additives in the Carnation evaporated milk. It WAS my favorite brand. I have one daughter allergic to carrageenan, which isnt necessary as it is used for a thickener by all the companies any more. Worst of all you put in dipotassium phosphate (or similar) . Did you know when it gets near the expiration date, that ingredient turns to GRAINS OF SAND in the bottom of the can and is either unusable or I have to put through a very fine sieve to get the sand out. This is totally unacceptable for any company to keep doing this. I would sure be happy if you cut out ALL added ingredients in these cans of milk

I use Nestle Carnation Evaporated Milk in my pumpkin pies. I do not use any other brand but Nestle Carnation Evaporated Milk. Also, add Carnation Evaporated Milk to scrambled eggs, and any other recipe that calls for evaporated milk.
