Q: Does it work on a 2000 square foot house

submitted by Hi - 8 months ago
  • A: Hi Hi, thanks for reaching out about Netgear Nighthawk 5-Stream Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 Router (RAX43) While this device offers coverage for up to 2,000 sq. ft., depending on your home's layout it may not perform in all areas of the house. For best results you might want to consider a MESH network that can be setup at multiple points throughout the house. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: Does this Router also act as the modem for the internet connection? In other words, is it a modem and a router, in a single device?

submitted by Armis - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi, Armis! Regarding your question about the Netgear Nighthawk 5-Stream Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 Router (RAX43): This is the router alone. A modem with a built-in router is called a "gateway", which is also available here on the site! If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact MyTGTtech at 877-698-4883 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

I love the fact that the app keeps me notified and armor keeps me secure. Since installing the router, my speeds all around have been so much faster and my band width covers my entire home. 10/10 recommend!

The Tale of the Disconnected Router: A Modem Tragedy

This is my third and final Netgear router! When I unboxed this Wi-Fi router, I was brimming with hope. Its sleek design promised performance, reliability, and effortless connectivity. Yet, the reality has been anything but. From the moment I set it up, it has refused to fulfill its one purpose in life: connecting me to the internet. Despite hours of troubleshooting, following every user guide, resetting it more times than I care to admit, and even a few desperate pleas to the tech gods, this router remains steadfastly offline. It taunts me with blinking LEDs that suggest activity, but they may as well be Morse code for "not today." My devices stare back at me, forlorn and disconnected, as if mourning the promise of a fast and stable network that never came to fruition. What makes it all the more frustrating is the complete lack of feedback. It's as if the router exists in its own silent world, unwilling to share why it won't connect or what I can do to change its mind. I've tried multiple configurations, different cables, and even a brief stint of staring at it with disappointment, but nothing seems to work.

The RAX43 offers decent performance for the price point (refurbished unit). The wifi 6 provides better speeds than my previous router and I've noticed less congestion with multiple devices. Setup, however, wasn't

Very glad I chose this router over other brands. It was easy to setup and the extra features like speed test, devices connected, and usage are an added plus. I liked it so much I bought a second and set it up as an access point. The router strength is much stronger than my Starlink router and faster also.

Works well...house is 2300 square feet and router is on one end of home. Have a myQ garage door opener and it is at the other end of house and it works well in garage. Had router for about two weeks and watch movies on the other end of the house opposite of router and movies stream well.

For over 2 years, I was paying for 2 internet providers. One for the tv streaming and the other for the capability of creating a guest wifi. My new NETGEAR router works as well as the routers from both internet providers and the benefits of both in 1 router. Wish I had found it sooner.

Works great. A little difficulty setting up because I could not download the app on my phone so I called in. Still could not install using the website because it asked for my IP address and the ISP would not provide it. So I downloaded the app on my wife's phone and was able to set it up easily.
