Nioxin System 4 Shampoo Cleanser - 10.1 fl oz

Used it once and it stripped my color which was pretty expensive. My hair didn't feel softer either and it didn't smell that great.

This used to be my holy grail shampoo. Even if I tried something new, I always came back to it. I have very fine, oily hair. I started using this shampoo back in 2020 when I was going through telogen effluvium (hormone related hair loss). I feel like it helped reduce/slow the shedding and always left my hair and scalp feeling clean, but without stripping it or leaving it feeling “squeaky” or dry. It became really hard to find early this year (2024) - it was out of stock at Ulta and Target for a really long time. At the end of June, I found it at Target with new packaging. The previous packaging was pretty dated so it was a nice refresh/modernization. Within a week I began breaking out all over my face. I hadn’t started any other new products so I figured it was hormone related. Fast forward to the end of July, I was still breaking out horribly and nothing I tried was working. I went over all the products I use regularly and started to wonder if it was the shampoo. I stopped using it for THREE DAYS, and my face started clearing up. Within a week of discontinuing use of this shampoo, any remaining breakouts had healed and I stopped getting new ones. I decided to wait another couple of weeks to see if it was just a coincidence, but I’m now convinced It wasn’t. I’m super disappointed because this was a great product for me for so many years. Whatever changed in the few months where they pulled it from the shelves, it wasn’t for the better. Sad to say I won’t be buying this again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this shampoo is actually a good one for my hair. doendt have an over powering smell. leaves my hair cleansed and soft. a tiny amount goes along way. the size of the bottle is enough for about a month or so.

Few drops of this transparent light green gel covered my head with lather. After washing I feel a much cleaner scalp with out striping my hair . I recommend Nioxin 4 cleanser shampoo to all my friends

My hair is loc’d so I wasn’t able to get the full affect. However I love that this hair treatment system came with easy to follow instructions. I also thought it was a great size. It had a light and clean scent which I absolutely love!!

My hair feels nice & clean after using. It is so refreshing!! I have noticed significant hair growth since I started using this shampoo cleanser. I highly recommend!

I do think that this tends to make my hair a little dry though so I can’t use it with the coordinating conditioner, but if I use a more hydrating conditioner this works pretty well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the product for about three weeks now and I do enjoy the scalp therapy foam. It does leave my hair feeling a bit fuller, but I do have to be careful with the amount that I do put in because if I put in a lot it does make my hair feel a bit sticky and I can feel a bit of residue in it which I don’t particularly like. I do see a difference in my hair when I use and don’t use this product. If you do have very finance in here my suggestion would be may be have a pump and you will see your hair feeling a lot fuller softer and shinier. I do enjoy this product so I am planning on re-purchasing once I run out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have thin and fine hair, chemically processed, I started using the shampoo a month ago, twice a week and it leaves a very pleasant sensation of freshness, clean hair and menthol, the scalp and the texture of the strands are thicker and I have more volume, I recommend the product but you must remember that you must use the 3 treatment products and consistency is key to seeing favorable results. I have been using it over a month now along with my husband and we are both loving it. It leaves your scalp feeling fresh from the minty smell and doesn’t dry it out. I have noticed my hair isn’t falling out as much and my husband can see some new growth. I would definitely recommend

My crown is more of a kinky natural textured tends to need more styling. I love the smell of this product and I can see a difference with my blow outs. They last longer, my hair is stronger and my baby hairs have less fly away. Great product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I highly recommend the Nioxin Hair Care Kit System for Color Treated Hair with Progressed Thinning if you have thinning hair. In addition to leaving my hair feeling refreshed and clean, the shampoo also left my scalp feeling tingly (in a good way). Usually, shampoos that I use make me lose a lot of hair after use, but I didn't have that problem with this one.

I can feel how clean my hair is after wvery use, it removes every bit of built up gunk from my hair products over the week. My head feels wonderfully refreshed once it's rinsed out. It's a great first step for getting that thickness back to your hair. You have to have a clean scalp so Nioxin's other products can seep through.

The smell is so over powering it gave me a migraine almost instantly which sucks because the product does work great!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the smell of this shampoo it smells like tea tree. Also feels a little cooling effect not as tingly as tea tree though. It lathers up really well. Not sure yet if my hair is growing in more yet. The thing I don't like about this product is it feels like it dried my hair out. If I see hair growth more later I might buy again if not I won't be buying again.
