Summary of reviews

Nivea Soft has been a beloved moisturizer for many guests, known for its rich and creamy texture that leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated. However, the recent change to a vegan formula has led to disappointment among long-time users, who find it less effective and irritating. Despite mixed feelings about the new formulation, some guests appreciate its lightweight feel and pleasant scent, making it a versatile option for daily use on various skin types.

    New Formula SUCKS

My grandmother had a jar of Nivea Soft in her bathroom. I remember using it since I was a child when I would go visit. The smell, consistency, everything was perfect. Been using it since. Now this new formula is a disaster - watery, thin, gross, ugh! Nivea you’ve ruined my childhood memory. And I have to find a new moisturizer now. Bring back the ORIGINAL! We don’t care about vegan!

    Nivea Soft New formula disapointing

We are using the Nivea Soft cream since the 90s for face, body and hand and we loved it. Recently purchased the new version and we don't like it at all. Lots of negative changes: smell, fell, absorption. We have both versions (old and new) and compared them. Conclusion: we'll stop buying it and look for another brand. After 30 years of loving this product, I'm not sure why the change in the formula (vegan and natural) is becoming worse than better.

I have never left a review of ANY skin product before but I have been using nivea soft for around 5-6 years now and it was the ONLY moisturizing cream that stopped my break outs. However new formula feels watered down and harder to pick up. When applied it immediately dries out and becomes sticky as well as tight on skin. This tightness soon begins to feel super dry and I can't even wash it off easily because it sticks to face and hands. I tried leaving it on to dry properly but that resulted in a break out all over my face. I worked so hard to clear it through the years and now the only moisturizer that worked for me was changed...

New Nivea Sift formula is not good

I have been using Nivea soft for many years and this newest formula has me considering other products. My skin doesn’t have the soft texture it did with the previous formula and it doesn’t absorb as well. Please make the former formula available for purchase. This is the first time I have ever submitted a review on a product and I’m really hoping that I can get the former product.

I haven't tried the previous version so unsure what may have changed. I can say that I honestly really like this cream and have used it each night on my hands and arms before going to sleep. Can definitely notice a difference in how smooth my skin feels and appreciate how quickly it absorbs into the skin.

The new formula is just not the same in any way from colour, to scent, to level of richness. It fails on all levels and is not an equivalent formula. PLEASE reissue the old formula - I've used this face cream for the last 20 years and am devastated!

    Terrible new formula

The new formula is terrible! I've used Nivea Soft for over 10 years and recently ran out of my old package so I reordered a new one. I noticed the new Vegan message on the new packaging and hoped that it wouldn't ruin the formula much. I was wrong. The new formula is not moisturizing at all and leaves my face feeling tight and dry. It's unusable now. Really disappointed in this change, and will have to try a new moisturizer alternative now. Will no longer be purchasing until the formula has changed back. Seems like nobody is happy with this new change.

    Bring back the old Formula

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Nivea soft for my face for about 10 years now. I have sensitive skin and found it to be the best product for me. Now using the ‘new’ improved formula my face stings after I have applied it. I also liked the old cream as it was light and make my face so refreshed, with the new formula it feels caky and like I need to apply moisturiser again. I now need to find another product.

I don’t even know what moisturizer to use anymore because this was the only one that worked. Please bring the old one back!!!!!

Nivia Soft VEGAN: New formula = New product

    1 out of 5 stars
    JamesT - 1 month ago

I’ve been using Nivia soft for decades. When I recently purchased the new vegan formula product, I thought nothing off it. However, the new vegan Niva soft is a completely different product, it may have the branding providence but it’s not the same! The vegan product has a different feel to it, made my eye sting and skin remained greasy throughout the day. Studying the ingredients of both: • 23 Common ingredients • 9 Ingredients removed compared to the original • 18 Ingredients added to the vegan formula Looking at the number of differences I would have said this couldn’t possibly be called the same Nivia Soft product and have the same quality and performance expectation. I’ve just been round my local supermarket and purchased as much old stock as I could! Further Details TLDR Common across the two formula: Aqua, Glycerin, Myristyl Alcohol, Alcohol Denat., Myristyl Myristate, Palmitic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Stearic Acid, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides | Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Myristic Acid, Arachidic Acid, leic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Linalool, Citronellol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Limonene, Parfum Missing from the original formula: Paraffinum Liquidum, Butylene Glycol, Cera Microcristallina, Lanolin Alcohol (Eucerit®), Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate, Dimethicone, Carbomer, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate Added to the Vegan formula Cetearyl Glucoside, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Vegetable Oil, Cetyl Ricinoleate, Triisostearin, Sorbitan Stearate, Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Gellan Gum, Xanthan Gum, Lauric Acid, Disodium Cetearyl, Sulfosuccinate, Acetyl Cedrene, Citrus Aurantium Peel Oil, Terpineol, Lavandula Oil/Extract, Linalyl Acetate

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have used this product for years and LOVE-D it until they changed the formula. It is AWFUL now. The previous formula was SO hydrating, my skin felt AMAZING after using it, but now the new formula somehow makes my skin feel dry?! Guess I wont be buying this product any longer and will have to find something new. Judging by other reviews here, I am not the only one who feels this way. Perhaps Nivea will be losing more than me as a customer....

The lovely smell which defines Nivea has gone replaced by a chemical smell which is unpleasant. The cream is thinner and doesn’t sink in like the old one did its much greasier. I won’t be buying it again ! Why change a formula which worked so well ?

At first I didn’t know why I needed a second application to get anywhere near the effect I usually get and then I noticed the formula had been changed. Yet another great product ruined.
