NOW Cedarwood The Best!

NOW brand is my trusted brand for almost all my supplements, so their essential oils are also on my trusted list. I use cedarwood for excess mucus, coughs and sinus drainage. Whenever I have a tickle in my throat or a cough that won't stop bothering my throat I put a drop of cedarwood directly on my neck and upper chest area. No carrier oil needed. Within minutes the mucus is coughed up and the cough goes away. A drop on my face near sinus cavities in the forehead, and cheeks under the eyes near the bridge of my nose usually clears sinus stuffiness.

Can’t rate the effectiveness as I won’t know until I’ve used it for 8 to 12 weeks.

I put 15 drops of this oil in a small spray bottle of rubbing alcohol with a couple drops of dish soap to spray around the picnic table to keep the bugs away. It works great.

I bought this to add when I use a cream polish on my wood furniture, just for pleasure. It has a gentle fragrance, which is what I prefer. I am pleased with my purchase.

Make my own bug spray by adding a few drops plus peppermint essential oil to distilled water to ward off pesky insects. Love it.

I guess I was thinking this was going to smell like the cedar used in cedar lined closets, but instead it smells like the insides of a pencil sharpener. Not a horrible smell, but not one that I want . I can't really speak to how effective this oil might be for any particular use as I have not used it because I didn't want to walk around smelling like a pencil sharpener nor do I want any rooms in my house to smell like that .

I use this Cedarwood Oil, Eucalyptus oil, Citronella oil, Lavender oil and Tea tree oil in a spray bottle with white vinegar and sage or chamomile tea to keep the flies away from my horse and cows. It works very good for several hours.

This is a different smell, not for everybody. To me it reminds me of a burning fireplace.

In a spray bottle, I fill the bottle halfway with peroxide, 8 drops of cedarwood essential oil and the rest of the bottle with water. Shake and spray to kill odors. I will never buy the room sprays with all those chemicals again when I can make it so easily and it smells so good.
Another Bad Scented Essential Oil

Was planning to make my own blend of essential oils to replace the use of store bought perfume- which always irritated my skin. This is not to be used in that blend, as far as I am concerned: instead of Cedarwood all this smells like is smoked wood... Not sure how this scent ended up this bad, but I am not satisfied. I am sure this oil may be good for other purposes: skin hydration, massage etc. But smell wise I did not like it.

Lovely masculine scent. At first it has a reminiscence of leather and that "outdoor" scent then fades into a light musk. Swanson's always has the best deals!

Lovely scent! Smells just like cedar. Great quality. I used this in an outdoor spray mix I made (which contained a number of different essential oil) for spraying around the backyard area to repel fleas, etc.

I have been using NOW Cedarwood Essential Oil for several years in my soapmaking. My husband likes to work with cedar, so I wanted to make a soap that uses cedar fragrance. I especially like to combine this cedarwood with NOW Orange Essential Oil - nice blend.

Our family started making our own bug spray last summer, and use this as one of the ingredients. The price can't be beat, and we're so happy with our homemade "natural" bug deterrent. Smells good and does exactly what we want it to! I added it to homemade lye soap this summer, and was super happy with how it reacted in that as well.

Cedarwood has a sweet and pleasant smell. However, it is not very strong and can be easily 'replaced' by other essential oil when combined.
