Q: Mold/mildew started growing in my shoe rack that I put on my back covered patio. what is the best way to seal/protect it from moisture?

A: For the best care of your bamboo shoe rack, we recommend placing the shoe rack in an indoor environment as exposure to outdoor elements such as moisture or heat may damage the bamboo over time. Also, we recommend applying a solution of vinegar and/or lemon oil to the shoe rack to remove the mold.

sturdy, easy to assemble, and attractive. but I put it on my back patio (fully covered) and the moisture/humidity caused mold/mildew. so I wouldn't recommend it for outside use. trying to decide what I could do to seal it...

This shoe rack is just what I was looking for. It is compact but adds good storage and looks nice. It was super easy to put together too! It can fit about nine pairs of adult shoes, but under the bottom shelf you can also fit sandals or smaller kid shoes. This shoe rack also came with pegs and has four holes on the top and bottom so you could stack multiple units if you wanted to.

I wanted to give this item 5 stars but there were two issues. 1) one of the racks was not predrilled, and when I tried to drill and screw in the hole the rack splintered making it unusable. 2) there were splinters elsewhere. Otherwise it looks very nice and is quite sturdy. Wish I could get a refund for reason one but I missed the return window.
