About the Book
"100 dependable recipes including no-fuss weeknight dinners plus leisurely weekend meals to look forward to, from the bestselling author of Once Upon a Chef. Years before she started her popular Once Upon a Chef blog, back when she became a new mom, Jennifer Segal kept a recipe binder divided into two sections: Weeknight and Weekend. This is how she thought about what to cook for dinner, and, fifteen years later, it still is. In this versatile collection, you'll find seventy recipes for fast and easy weeknight meals, like Sesame-Ginger Meatballs and Pecorino-Crusted Chicken with Rosemary, and thirty recipes for slow, soothing weekend cooking, whether that's company-friendly Sear-Roasted Beef Tenderloin with Horseradish Cream Sauce or lazy Sunday morning Popovers with Salted Maple Butter. You'll also find Jenn's favorite desserts, like Cherry Ricotta Cake and Triple Chocolate Cheesecake, that are easy enough for the weeknight rush and luscious enough for weekend rest and celebration. Featuring seventy all-new dishes plus thirty fan favorites from her popular blog, Once Upon a Chef, each recipe is tested and retested multiple times in Jenn's home kitchen to ensure they are reliable, delicious, and sure to please every night of the week"--Book Synopsis

I tried out her recipes from her blog, and they never fail. It's flavorful, easy to make, and my family loves it. I was a little hesitant to buy the book because she already has so many great recipes on her blog, unlike other cookbooks, she added so many new recipes that cannot be found on the blog for free. I've just got the book and already see so many recipes I'd love to try. It has a lot of recipes, unlike some books with just bunch of pretty photos. This is a great buy!

I've received a free copy from Clarkson Potter in exchange for a free and unbiased review. I love that this cookbook was written with the understanding that weeknights for families don't leave endless time for cooking, but that we still want great food we can feel good about feeding our families- and that there is some wiggle room for branching out on weekends. I found a ton of recipes in this book that fit my family's dietary needs and our preferences, and the range is really nice too. My family is particularly excited to try the southwestern corn chowder and bulgogi flank steak skewers, and I'm looking forward to an occasion worth making the strawberries and cream layer cake!
Great recipes!
