A: Hello the dinner plate has a soft texture on the surface of the plate and rim. They are made in China and they are lead free.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautifully made, durable, and very pretty to look at. These plates and bowls are not easily stained. I ate spaghetti and let the sauce sit for a little while. When I went to wash it, the sauce came off with no problems.

The plates and bowls are very durable and this set can be used for a cosy lunch or elegant evening dinner. Such versatility and functionality, and easy for everyday entertaining. Sooo pretty and can’t keep my hands off them.

These look very nice, but they scratch easily! After about a week of use they’re covered in marks from contact with silverware.

Defects in dinnerware typically become apparent within the first days of use however utilitarian marks from normal use can happen as well.. Though some users characterize the gray marks as scratches, usually there is no damage to the glaze or the stoneware body. The metal deposits can be removed with a variety of cleansers, including Bon Ami, Soft Scrub, or Bar Keepers Friend. As all dinnerware manufacturers will attest, metal marks are not considered a product defect and can easily be removed with a porcelain cleanser( Barkeepers Friend or Bonami). We recommend when stacking dishes to place a china protector between each plate to protect from the damage the daily sliding can cause. If China protectors are not available a good substitute is clean coffee filters or paper towels.
