Q: What type of batteries does this toothbrush use?

submitted by Dog mom - 5 years ago
  • A: This toothbrush comes with a NiMH (Nickel-metal hydride) battery that shouldn't be changed and is charged through a charging station. For help with the battery give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

    submitted byOral-B - 5 years ago

  • A: its a rechargeable device doesnt need batteries

    submitted bypmlc220394 - 5 months ago
  • A: I’ve had mine for 12 years and the same battery is still charging on the charger.

submitted byskjc - 4 years ago
  • A: It comes with it's own battery. It charges by being plugged into an outlet, the toothbrush charges by being on the stand via wireless charger. Hope this helps!

    submitted byLovebug4 - 5 years ago

Q: Does this toothbrush have a battery status warning light?

submitted by Les - 2 years ago
  • A: No, there is no warning light when the battery runs low.

    submitted byOral-B - 2 years ago

  • A: Yes, it will blink red.

submitted bytheconsciousconsumer - 5 months ago
  • A: Mine does have a light that flashes red when it starts to get low. Not sure what the “expert” is talking about lol

submitted byJax - 5 months ago

Q: Does it come with multiple tooth brushes so that more than one person can use it?

submitted by Kelly - 7 years ago
  • A: But you can switch out the brush head (removable) for each person.

    submitted byjennywren1420 - 3 years ago
  • A: The Pro 1000 only comes with one brush head.

    submitted byOral-B - 5 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: The brush is easy to remove, and you can buy extra brushes for the other people to use.

    submitted byjennywren1420 - 3 years ago

Q: could it be used univerally? What's the plug voltage?

submitted by Nina - 8 years ago
  • A: No. The charger only works with 120 VAC (eg US). I tried to use one in Europe with a plug converter (not a transformer) and that broke it.

submitted byLex - 7 years ago
  • A: If you have a transformer that converters your electrical service to 120 volts, then you can use it.

    submitted byBob W - 8 years ago
  • A: Oral-B electric toothbrushes contain either a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery or a lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery. NiMH batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.2 V; the Li-Ion battery has a nominal voltage of 3.6 V. The Pro Crossaction 1000 Brush has a NiMH (Nickel-metal hydride) battery.

Q: Can you use this toothbrush in the shower?

submitted by Lindsey - 8 years ago
  • A: Yes, all Oral-B electric toothbrushes are waterproof, so it is fine to use them in the shower. However, we don’t recommend immersing your brush in water. We recommend making sure that you completely dry the handle after use and before charging.

    submitted byOral-B - 5 years ago

  • A: I never tried it but I wash mine off under the running faucet every time I use mine. The case appears to be sealed so as long as the case isn't damaged you can.

    submitted byBob W - 8 years ago
  • A: Yes but its a monumental waste of water and energy to heat that water. Even worse than leaving the water running while brushing.

submitted byZika - 7 months ago

Q: I have mine a month now and it leaves a white residue when left standing in the bathroom cabinet. The toothpaste I use is green and I wipe the brush down before putting it in the cabinet. Any ideas?

submitted by Jim - 1 year ago
  • A: There is nothing in the toothbrush that will leave a residue, and making sure to clean it after every use is what we would recommend, Jim. Call us at (800) 566-7252 so we can look into this further.

  • A: Probably the scale in the water and residual water and toothpaste stuck in the nooks and crannies and under 5be brush head. I shake off and dry the entire wand with a towel after removing the head and do the same with the head and store it off the wand between brushing.

submitted byZika - 7 months ago

Summary of reviews

The Oral-B Pro CrossAction 1000 electric toothbrush receives mixed feedback, with guests appreciating its effective cleaning power and plaque removal capabilities. However, concerns about its noise level, lack of a travel cap, and durability issues are noted. The strong motor and circular brush head are highlighted, but some guests find the toothbrush too aggressive for sensitive teeth and gums. The design changes, particularly the on/off button, have received criticism for being less user-friendly than previous models.

    No actual pressure sensor

Pressure sensor does not work. That is the main functionality I was looking for in an Oral-B brush. There's no light or sound to notify if you're brushing too hard. Unless I literally try and break the brush by holding the head from moving, it will not stop its cleaning.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Our Oral-B Products are put through rigorous quality checks to ensure they arrive to you in the best condition. When using your Oral-B Pro 1000, when you apply too much pressure, the pressure sensor stops pulsations if you brush too hard to prevent harmful over-brushing. We'd like to learn more about your experience, and would appreciate you giving us a call at (800) 566-7252.

Grows mold quickly. It’s easy to use but water gets trapped in the brush area quickly which creates mold.

We're sorry to hear. With the many quality tests these brushes have undergone, this isn't the result we expect. While we understand how unsightly this may be, this is most likely a result of excess toothpaste residue. Your brush is safe to be used, and we're confident this can be removed with a thorough cleaning. If you have questions or would like to share more, please give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

As my son has been growing up, he really wanted a toothbrush similar to his dad's and older brothers. I loved this particular design for him by Oral-B and decided to surprise him for the holidays. Oral-B Pro Crossaction 1000 rechargeable electric toothbrush has been a fantastic addition and replacement of his old toothbrush. Not only he feels like the coolest kid on earth, but the brushing teeth war has ended and he is wanting to brush his teeth throughout the day without any battles. It's very effective and easy to use. Super easy to charge and replace the heads when needed. I love that it's rechargeable and electric making it easily portable. Doesn't take long to recharge, the battery lasts a while without needing to constantly charge comparing to his old toothbrush. There are 3 modes (daily clean, whiten, and sensitive). Every 30 seconds it lets you know when to switch areas of the mouth. I find that helpful and educating for a child. Don't forget to replace your toothbrush head every 3 months! Couldn't have purchased a better brush for my child! Happy child, happy dentist and definitely happy mama!

We appreciate you sharing your feedback, Lizzy, and we'll be happy to help further. While we do have some models with an indicator light to indicate too much pressure, models like the Pro 1000 have an internal sensor that will still decrease oscillations when too much pressure is applied. We're happy to help further with this so you can get the best clean from your toothbrush. Call us at 1-800-566-7252, M - F, 9 am to 6 pm EST.

I bought this during Black Friday. For the price and it being on many of the best toothbrush lists, I like it. I do like that it has three modes for brushing. I wish it would remember the last mode I used when brushing so I wouldn’t have to cycle through every time.

The brush head has a hole in it and the vibrating mechanism is exposed. Spit and toothpaste enters the hole, runs down the inside, and flows out onto the handle. Your hand will be covered in it. Impossible to use without wrapping the handle in a cloth. Pressure feature is impossible to recognize, should be removed from literature as a feature. Bristles and motion are effective but is so small I brush 4 minutes instead of two in order to clean teeth effectively. Do not purchase.

We certainly don't want to leave you feeling disappointed, and would like to help. Please know, we carry out extensive research and consumer testing when designing our products. Our toothbrushes are also designed to be comfortable to hold and easy to use for a wide variety of consumers. We recommend to use sufficient, but not too much toothpaste. During brushing, the brush should be placed inside the mouth and the mouth should be closed as much as possible to minimize spilling etc. Also important to ensure the brush head is properly cleaned after each brush session to ensure the hole at the front of the brush head is not clogged as this might lead to more spatter. When you're brushing too hard, the pulsations will stop to let you know. So that we can learn more and help you further, please give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

This toothbrush is so loud. I thought I put the head in incorrectly because of how much it rattles, but it is in all the way. Maybe I got a defective one. The hole in the head part is an odd design- others mentioned it causing mold, and I can totally see that being the case just by looking at it.
    1 reply from Oral-B team - 27 days ago
We're sorry to hear our Pro 1000 is too loud, and that you're not a fan of the design. We carry out extensive research and consumer testing when designing our products. Our toothbrushes are also designed to be comfortable to hold and easy to use for a wide variety of consumers. Still we know that preferences vary from person to person, so we're sharing your experience with our team. The openings are designed to allow water to flush through the brush head tube, and to also allow air inside. This venting ensures the brush head dries sufficiently after use and also reduces moisture inside the tube. It's important to always rinse your brush head thoroughly after each use to prevent residue from building up and blocking the openings. So we can help you further, please give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

false advertising on the pressure sensor and timer. it will not automatically turn off after two minutes. it just buzzes after 30 secs and long buzz after two minutes. it will get mucky and wet causing it to create crust. i have to clean it after every use. it will not let you know when you are brushing too hard. it did make my teeth feel really clean. the buzz timer is useful but not what i was expecting. the instructions are also very unclear. i had to use chat GPT to explain the modes and the pressure sensor.

Lasted 6 months and stopped working, won’t even recharge
    1 reply from Oral-B team - 1 month ago
We're certainly sorry to hear this. There could be several reasons why your toothbrush has stopped charging. Here are some troubleshooting tips you can try: 1. **Check the Power Outlet**: Ensure that the outlet you are using is functioning properly. Sometimes, outlets built into bathroom cabinets require the light switch to be turned on or may have a safety device that needs resetting. 2. **Charger Connection**: Make sure the charger is properly connected to the power source and that you are using the charger with the correct orientation (for iO 7-10 brushes, the writing should be on the bottom with a raised circle on top). 3. **Placement on Charger**: Ensure that the toothbrush is placed correctly on the charging pin. The charging pin has a non-symmetrical shape, and if placed incorrectly, the charging light may still be on, but it won't charge. 4. **Charging Time**: If the toothbrush was completely drained, it may take up to 15 minutes for the charging light to start flashing. Depending on the model, it can take up to 24 hours to fully charge. 5. **Testing with Another Charger**: If you have another Oral-B toothbrush at home, try using its charger to see if your toothbrush charges. This can help determine if the issue is with the charger or the toothbrush itself. 6. **Charging on Metal Surfaces**: Avoid charging your toothbrush on or near metal surfaces, as this can interfere with the electromagnetic charger and lead to longer charging times. If these steps do not resolve the issue, then please give us a call at (800) 566-7252. We'd like to learn more to share with our Quality Team and help with this.

I purchased on sale for my teen as a Xmas gift as she just recently got braces. So no idea yet, how well it will do with braces. I decided to buy one for myself and after the first brush I was definitely sold. I’ve had electric toothbrushes in the past but maybe I was just buying too cheap and they never lasted. I am not the best about flossing and had a couple of areas that had a little tarter buildup. After my first cleaning, it was gone. I could also immediately feel the difference between brushing with a manual vs electric. I’m still remembering the different modes, but the first one cleans the best for me but is powerful as far as feeling the vibration all through my head. I’m sensitive to that type of stuff but can make do. Overall I’m happy and recommend. I didn’t really read the reviews until after 1st use, so I’m not sure yet about the mold and rust issues I’ve been reading.

It cleaned my teeth well. Bought as a replacement for my old sonicare and have been using it for 6 months. Will be going back to dominate because this toothbrush is gross. I wipe the toothbrush down every time after I use it but somehow water gets trapped in the toothbrush and leaks out and leaves a white ring/mold on the charger or my counter. Every single time. I have seen other people on TikTok with this problem so I know it’s not just my toothbrush.

We’re sorry to hear you’ve noticed a residue building up on your toothbrush. We have many quality checks in place to ensure only the best products reach you. Please know we understand this is unsightly but it is likely a buildup from regular use. Even if rinsed after each use, residual toothpaste can harden over time and form a residue on your toothbrush and the replacement head. This buildup may be colored depending on your toothpaste and water hardness. In either case, this substance is not harmful and can be removed with a thorough cleaning. So that we can help you further, please give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

I just got my brush. The pressure sensor rarely works (if you're putting excess pressure, the pulsing only happens 1 in 5 times), the brush itself sits about 2-3mm off the base and rattles enough to the point I'm afraid I'll damage my gums.

This is absolutely not worth the money. It didn’t remove a single stain from my teeth (coffee stains) whereas my $8 fake sonicare did. I obviously thought this would be better than a knockoff that stops working after 2 weeks, but it’s not. ALSO, water gets trapped beneath the brush head so I keep removing it to prevent the mold that older reviews mentioned. I thought the newer models would have addressed that issue but it doesn’t. It’s annoying to assemble your toothbrush every time you want to use it. I gave it an extra star because they included an actual charger instead of just a usb cable…but I can’t wait to return it.

Good toothbrush, good price. Oral-B was suggested to us by dentists. We stick with Oral-B so we can use the brushes interactively. Just bought this one but seems as good as predecessors. Alleged to better moderate pressure and brushing, but cannot say much about that yet. Like the black color but that wasn't what the original ad showed
