Q: Does the water run during daylight hours or just at dusk?

A: This fountain only works when the solar panel is in direct sun during the day so at dusk it would not be working. If you'd like to run the pump at dusk/night using electricity you can order an optional AC adapter from our parts dept (813-343-5775 M-F 9-5 ET). -SLHG

Q: can you turn fountain on/off?

A: This fountain works in direct sun and does not have an on/off switch. If there is a time when you do not want it to run then you can cover the solar panel or lay it face down on the ground. If you're going of town for a while then we suggest unplug and remove it so you'll have nothing to worry about. -SLHG

Q: It sounds like this fountain does not have the solar panel included. It is not shown and is not listed but for a line that says it needs a separate solar panel. Is this correct?

A: This fountain does include a solar panel. The line that says "Powered by a separate solar panel with a 10 ft cable" just means that the solar panel is outside the fountain and not in the water. The fountain can be in the shade as long as the panel is in direct sun. -SLHG

once it's assembled you need to be sure that the pitcher at the. top leans forward and downward a bit, and that the hose stays down. i had to put a seashell in the pitcher to hold the hose down so the water doesn't flow back through the hole in the pitcher where the hose is inserted. at first the water went back through the hose hole and flooded the patio until I saw what was wrong. it looks nice and works well as long as the solar panel gets sun. it doesn't store energy so the fountain stops without sunlight.

Thanks for your feedback. Glad you got it working and are enjoying it. If you have a tapered foam plug with a hole in the middle but wasn't sure where it goes it goes on the hose and then seals the hole in the jug so the water cant run out the hole. -Smart Solar

Smart solar company review. It’s correct. It does not store power. That would’ve been a nice feature. But overall I’m happy with my fountain (slightly different color from picture, same manufacturer) had it for years and even works on cloudy days.

NOT A SMART SOLAR FOUNTAIN. Easy to assemble, but fountain ONLY works in sunlight. Solar panel does not store power & turn on in eve. Its a DAYTIME FOUNTAIN & it also does not run like vid. The tube gets pinched in stopper. Its not worth more than $69.IMO... RIP OFF!!!
