Oster Pro 500 900 Watt 7 Speed Blender in Chrome with 6 Cup Glass Jar

I just tried this blender for the first time and all my protein smoothie ingredients came out during blending. It was a disaster and a waste of food. The base was tight but apparently not tight enough. After cleaning I tried just to blend just ice and water. The lights are flashing but none of the buttons are working. I’m beyond frustrated.

Excellent quality. I make sure to take apart and clean the jar and blade after each use. I also keep the blade off the metal base in order to keep it from rusting. Overall, it works great and has plenty of power. Also, attractive on the counter.

Bought less than a month ago. It does have some difficulty chopping up frozen fruit but I love the power it has to make smoothies.

I've had this for a few months and every time I try to make a smoothie I have to stop it and stir it with a spoon to get all the air pockets out so it will actually blend. The blade is far too small for any frozen fruit larger than a blueberry. I wouldn't invest in this if you're buying it for smoothies. Otherwise I'm sure it works fine for juices and such.

I bought this today to make milkshakes, smoothies and slushies. It's already hot and strawberries and raspberries are coming on like crazy. I found a quickie recipe online - 2/3 c. milk; 2 c. ice cream and a about 3/4 c. of fresh raspberries. On the smoothie setting, it came out perfect! No photos, because we drank them immediately. My only question is where can I find a bunch of recipes for this blender in one place. The hardest part was finding a recipe. I am not a cook. If this worked for me, it can work for anyone!

Not sure why Oster does not make the metal gear material (in the base of the glass pitcher), rust proof. Despite trying to keep the gear area dry, it has now rusted to the point that the blender makes a lot of noise, yet it does not work. The rust also extends to the metal connector on the top of the base unit.

A friend invited me to her houseboat for the weekend and I brought my blender to make margaritas. I decided to give it to her as a "thanks". Didn't realize how much I loved this blender until it was gone. You never know how good you have it till your blender is with someone else. I couldn't get out of bed the first week. Things had improved until I decided to make pesto...I am now in full heartbroken mode. I am buying a new one NOW!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this blender now since February - I make a fresh vegetable and fruit smoothie (or I call it a chunky as I prefer NOT perfectly smooth) every day - 48 oz of it -- sometimes more than once a day. Since I make more than one serving at a time, I break up the process. I have found that the trick is to put heavier items on the top, so I put 6 oz of water (or juice) in first, with chia seeds, shredded unsweetened coconut, and ground flax seeds, pineapple, 3 cups of spinach - blend or chop till desired thickness - then add raspberries, blueberries, banana, lots of baby cut carrots and then strawberries, As i said I prefer it chunky, so I do it a bit differently by using the "chop" button, which uses the reversing function. to the consistency I prefer. If you use the "smoothie" function you get the reversing action that then turns into a high-speed one-way action, giving you a very smooth product. I had forgotten where i bought this and have been looking for another one as a gift. Now I know. Love the glass jar.

So easy, press on, select "Frozen Drink Smoothies", fill 1/3 with frozen fruit, 1/3 full almond milk or fat free milk, push the button and walk away. It will do everything and shut off in about two mins. Perfect Smoothie! I use it everyday.

One of the worst blenders out there. Couldn't even blend a smoothie correctly. It took me 20 minutes of turning it on and off, stirring the fruit and adding liquids for it to even START to look like a smoothie. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this blender if you plan to use it to blend anything thicker than water.
