[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high hopes for this wave spray, and while it did deliver on some promises, it missed the mark in a few key areas. I tried the spray on both dry and freshly-washed hair. For the wet hair, I towel-dried the hair after spraying root-to-tip; and while it did create waves, it also left my hair looking really frizzy. I have thick, slightly wavy hair, so I was hoping for more definition and less of the poofy texture I got. I also tried using it on dry hair just to see if it would help revive or enhance waves throughout the day, but it didn’t do much besides add an odd, gritty texture that didn’t feel great. Overall, it gave me some wave but came with too much frizz and not enough control or smoothness to make it a staple in my routine. Could work better for different hair types, but for mine, it was just okay.

I am obsessed with wave sprays. I’ve probably tried about 20 different kinds. This one is my favorite so far. I love that it makes texture and grit without the use of salt! Salt can really dry out your hair if you’re not careful. It also smells lovely. I don’t normally care for floral smells, but this is one of my favorites.

Its redeeming quality is that it smells good but it actually is so bad. At least for my hair type. It’s also weirdly sticky.

I have Black, African, coarse-textured hair, and this product is clearly not formulated with my hair type in mind. Instead of enhancing any waves or curls, it made my hair feel very crispy, dry, and stiff. I was hoping for some definition and softness, but it left my hair feeling more damaged than styled. I think this spray might work better for looser or finer textures, but I wouldn’t recommend it for natural or coarse hair. I’d love to see Ouai expand their product line to be more inclusive of all hair types and textures in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so disappointed in this spray. I’ve used shampoo and conditioner from this brand before, so I was excited to try their wave spray. I have naturally wavy hair and was hoping it would enhance my waves or help them last longer throughout the day. Instead, I ended up wishing I hadn’t used it at all because my hair actually looked better when I let it air dry on its own. No matter if I apply it to wet or dry hair, it always leaves my hair feeling sticky, and even my skin feels sticky wherever my hair touches it. Instead of giving me soft curls, it makes my hair look stringy. The scent is very floral and really strong, and it lingers for a long time. It’s not necessarily a bad smell, but it’s so overpowering that I would have much preferred something unscented. I won’t be buying this again, and honestly, I won’t even finish the bottle I have. It’s just not worth it.

I've been on a wavy hair *journey* and this spray is the only thing that works on my 2a/2b waves without weighing them down or feeling greasy. It is the closest I can get to beach waves without a dip in the ocean. It also smells amazing. Highly recommend!

I have most of Ouai’s products and love most of them sadly this is not one of them. I was excited when a new version of this came out since the other one gave me great wave but left my hair so sticky. This seemed to be almost exactly the same, just a little less sticky. It also stuck to my hair badly and I had to detox after. I wanted to love it but it just wasnt a win.

I was skeptical about this because everything I’ve used up to this point hasn’t worked all that well on my wavy hair. This, combined with the air dry foam has been an absolute game changer! It’s a little pricey but totally worth it. And it smells great! Will be buying again!
