Q: How do you empty it, does the receptacle inside lift out? Can you put a bag inside?

A: There is no additional receptacle inside, it does require a bag. The lid is hinged on in the back and is easy to remove, it is designed to hold the garbage bag so that it does not fall in. Very happy with this trash can.

submitted byKat - 8 years agoA: The entire top lifts off and you insert a 30 gallon bag with the side flaps folded just over the edge of the bottom top. Then you put the top back on that snaps into place and holds the bag in place. I have found that if you fill the receptacle jammed packed, you will have a bit of a problem lifting it out and the bag may tear on the inside grooves. You can also lock the flip top closed or keep it open making it more handy to throw in things. This is one of the best purchases I have made....it fits nicely in my laundry room that replaced a 25 year old ugly green round receptacle. Make sure you follow the directions exactly as written when assembling. Everything snaps into place. I also bought the matching storage seats, another great buy.
submitted bySHARON - 8 years agoA: We put a 32 or 33 gallon size bag. they lift out. We take it outside and hose down during the summer and I will put it in the shower in winter as needed when its dirty. This is my favorite trash can and I bought one for all my kids.

I absolutely LOVE this trash bin. I use it by my outdoor pool for guests to throw their trash away. It locks the lid closed to keep the raccoons and other animals out of it. I love how when you open and insert the bag, the lid will close over the top of the bags to keep them in place. I only have one complaint, hence the 4 star versus the 5 star rating. The inside is rigid and not smooth. Here's a tip if you buy one. I've had too many bags ripped trying to take them out of the trash bin. The answer is simple. Take a oversized cardboard box. Angle it and cut it so it slides up against the inside of the trash bin. Problem now solved, I can now insert and remove full trash bags without fear of it catching and ripping! I've had my cardboard on the inside for 2 years without any water damage. I just wish the manufacturer would have molded the plastic to be smooth on the inside to prevent snagging the bag as it comes out full of trash.

OK so these are amazing! Similar items cost over $100 more everywhere else online! Super sturdy and high-quality. Pretty easy to put together. I’ve been very pleased with these on my deck. We use one for trash and one to store kindling for our fire pit.

I like this because the color blends right in with our house and looks nice. It makes for a nice handy receptacle after picking up after the dogs. It’s handy to be able leave it right outside next to our house. It simply looks like a container that could hold anything- like pool supplies or toys. I really like that the top latches. We did that thing where we put an inner liner (Clear plastic kitchen bag) inside and tucked in the edges so it can’t be seen from the outside. And then we put plastic bags with handles on the inside to be able to dispose of weekly.

I really like this trashcan, it was exactly what I was looking for. I cook a lot and could not deal with a small 13 gallon trash can. I used this in my kitchen and it looks great! Easy to assemble, took about 3 minutes. I have noticed that it does seem to catch the trash bags on the corners when you remove them, but it works just fine - you just have to be careful. I do like the color and the locking lid, well built. Yes, I would definitely recommend!

This is a fantastic trash can! It looks great and functions well. I even used it in my kitchen for a while until I could find one I liked. I wish they made it in a smaller size to fit standard kitchen trash bags. If they did, I definitely would have chosen it for my permanent kitchen trash can.
