Don’t believe some of these reviews, this lead is great, it is expected to be pretty thin, so it will break easily if you extend it too much from the pencil. The quality, value, and price are all great. I highly recommend this product.

These are brittle and break more easily than say, Pentel and have too sharp a point as the material wears down.
Breaks annoyingly easily

Breaks easily, a significant difference in quality compared to the default lead that came in the (regular, cheap) mechanical pencils.
Cheap lead

These lead break with little to no force applied, and always result in an extremely light - and irritating - shade of black. It’s worth it to buy the better quality, and higher priced lead that’ll last longer and be more effective.

The .5 lead I got was actually .7 lead when I opened it. I tried putting it in my pencil and it didn’t work so I decided to try it on a .7 lead pencil and the lead went in. I don’t recommend buying this, maybe another brand will do, but I’m very furious with the product. Hope you can fix this issue so that no one will go through the hassle of having to buy another pack of lead from another store.

Bought for my daughter. She did not this to work as well as BUNCHO or STABILO- the brands that she was really familiar in. Good products with good value. Yes will buy again.

It is much cheaper than other popular brands on the market. Writes smoothly and is endurable. Does not specify lead type but looks like 2B lead. Love it!
Work Well, Great Bargain, but Containers Aren't Labeled

These are a good price and the lead works well, according to my three school-age kids (one in high school, one in middle school, one in elementary school). I haven't heard any complaints about the lead breaking or squeaking. (Yes, some lead squeaks.) The lead measures 2 3/8" long. I thought all mechanical pencils had the same size lead. My sons say no. Some have a longer chamber which can accommodate long lead refills. However, the shorter ones, like these, have worked in all our mechanical pencils so far, including the Pentel Twise-Erase Click. Just don't try putting a long lead in a short pencil. Kind of like taking a long walk off of a short pier. We haven't used the eraser yet, so I can't comment on that. The only shortcoming of these—and the reason I docked one star—is that the individual refill containers are not labeled in any way. So, once the package is open, you really don't have any way of knowing which size of lead is inside each container. Unless, of course, you're in the habit of carrying a caliper around in your back pocket. We bought one package of the 0.5 and one of the 0.7. I labeled each container with a Sharpie to indicate the size inside. Problem solved. However, it seems like the manufacturer should have thought of this? Then again, they're only $1.99....
