I regularly purchase Hills Science prescription diet for my dog. I place the 8 lbs bag with velcro closure directly into the bin to ensure continued freshness. Initially I poured the food directly into the Container but wasn't really impressed or assured that the seal would be tight enough. This container is perfect and works for an 8 lb bag easily despite what a couple of people have stated otherwise

I gave this a thorough wipe down before using, but since storing my cat’s food in this container, he doesn’t seem to want to eat it like he used to. He keeps looking at the dry food and then looking at me. Guess I’ll buy a fresh bag and see if it’s more appealing. Perhaps the container makes the food funky to him.

I really like the overall design of this. It is way more flimsy than the Iris brand ones but it is more affordable and I don't see why it wouldn't hold up long enough to pay for itself. I expect it to last at least a few years. I went with this one because I needed the largest size and I liked the 1c scoop vs the 2c scoop that comes with the IRIS USA one. I feed my dogs 1c of cooked food in the morning so they only get 1c ea of the kibbles. Just a little thing that'll make my life that much easier. My only real gripe is that mine does not latch properly. We go through 35lbs a month and I leave it in the bag inside the container, the fats in kibble leech into the plastic and will go rancid over time. It's best to leave it in the bag. Anyway. I was leaving half of it in the bag and touring half into the old bag inside my old 20lbs container and neither ever went bad so I don't think the lid flaw will effect freshness but it is still frustrating since one of my dogs is mischievous! Overall, I would buy again and probably will as long as this lasts me 2-3 years.
