Description

From the makers of UNO comes a rummy-type card game with a challenging and exciting twist! The object of the game is to be the first player to complete 10 varied phases with two sets of three, one run of seven, or seven cards with the same color. The twist is that each Phase to be completed is specific for each hand dealt. Players who complete one Phase advance to the next, but those who don't must keep trying until they do. Each deck features “Wild” and Skip” cards, which add excitement and can help you get out of a sticky situation. A “Wild” card can be used in place of a number card, as well as be used as any color to complete any phase, while a “Skip” card causes your opponent to lose a turn! Be the first person to complete all ten phases to win the game. Includes 108 cards and instructions. Colors and decorations may vary.

  • A: Yes! This classic card game, designed for 2 to 6 players, combines elements of skill, strategy, and a dash of luck as you strive to complete each of the ten phases. But here's the twist: the phase to be completed is specified. Only the players who complete get to move on to the next.

A friend introduced a group of us to this game several weeks ago and we stayed up playing late into the night! Think Yahtzee for cards, except you must match a specific combo rather than collecting them as you go. It was a bit complicated to learn and I think it's best to play with someone who is an expert when you're first learning. Once you get the hang of it it's of fun. However it takes a long time if you're going to go through all of the phases. I think the five of us took about two hours to complete them all. Deducting one start for complexity when learning, and for duration.

I bought this game to replace an old set that I have had for years. The game is the same but what was a gold color in the old set has been changed to a light yellow in the new set. The light yellow color is very difficult to see on the cards. I would rather use my old set of cards over this new set due to the color change.

Nice to play once but takes so, so very long to play. We’ve had games go in for over two hours at max player count. Plus, the skip cards make it such that, if you are in the lead, you might go round after round without taking a turn. Just sitting there is the opposite of fun.

Cards are slightly smaller than standard cards. Hard to shuffle. The yellow on white cards are difficulty to see. The older versions of the cards were much better.

    New Design is obnoxious

I LOVE this game! My family plays it all of the time. Brings it everywhere we go. However, this new design of phase 10 is too obnoxious. The skips and wild cards don’t say skip and wild, and the symbols are big and clumpy. The biggest thing that made me write this review is the phase 10 list cards. Instead of saying set of 3 and run of 4, it says AAA + ABCD. My family had to figure out what it was saying and it was hard to count the run cards and figure out how many cards are in the wanted run. And kind of a side note for all the uno games. The cardboard boxes break too easily. I think they should all be in the metal tin box for more durability.
