If you press too lightly or too hard, the epilator will not be able to grasp and remove the hairs. Experiment until you find the right settings and right amount of pressure for your type of skin and hair

I remember my first epilator, which died, it hurt but you soon get used to it. Important to get the angle & direction right & not go too fast. This leaves me very smooth, doesn't hurt my skin which is very sensitive. Haven't tried it wet yet but I've used it about 3x in maybe 2.5 months & IMO it rocks.

I recently switched from an older Braun Silk Epil 7. I'm ok with the product but there's room for improvement. I've been using it for about three months. Pros: The Philips epilator is lightweight and ergonomic, making it really comfortable to hold and maneuver. The epilation head is wider compared to the Braun, which helps cover more surface area and epilate more quickly. It's not too painful, at least for legs. Cons: One downside how noisy it is. It’s definitely louder than I expected and than the Braun. The build quality doesn't look as sturdy or premium. It feels a little less durable, and I’m not sure how it will hold up over time. The LED light, while helpful, is positioned at an awkward angle. It doesn’t provide much lighting. Depending on how much it's priced where you are, it may be a good choice. If looking for quality, I think I'd go for Brain next time.

I like Philips' products. But this did not work for me on my upper lip and chin. I broke out. I rarely have acne or the like. I used the delicate area cap attachment. Followed instructions. 75° angle. I have a magnifying mirror and I still saw many hairs, it seems like the epilator just broke the hairs and didn't pull from the root. I will* say that the remaining "stubble" did feel smoother afterwards than if I would have used my electric trimmer. But because of the breakout, I am returning this and resorting to waxing.

The epilator itself is very easy to use, the different heads go on to the device with ease and its simple to power on and off so there is not much of a learning curve. When I ran it over my leg hairs it did successfully take out a majority of them, some were not grabbed by the machine head since they were probably too short. Im interested to see how long my hair takes to grow in those areas since Im a very hairy person. If it takes 4 weeks to pop up again Ill be very impressed! I will say I did not like the sensation of the epilator plucking out the hair. Its not the worst thing in the world but it feels like a bunch of mini tweezers plucking out your hair at once so it is a little painful. As a shaving girly I will probably stick to shaving for the convenience and ease of it but if this epilator keeps my hair away for longer, I will be using it from time to time.

I owned and tried every at home hair removal method including an epilator, trimmer, wax beads and warmer, wax strips, razor and even a facial hair remover device. So imagine my delight when I discovered that this @philips Epilator Series 8000 is a 3-in-1 device. It can epilate, shave and trim. Moreover, it comes with different attachments for different functions and areas of body. You can even use it on the face with the delicate cap Im not gonna lie and say its not painful but its more comfortable and gentler than others Ive tried. It can easily pull out most hair except the really tiny ones. Epilators are a great one time investment for effective hair removal. In the long run, it also turns out to be one of the cheapest methods. Although its a painful method, the results are absolutely worth it to me!

My previous one needed to be plugged in while using and I really like how this one can be used cordless, and that it's also water resistant in case you prefer to use it in the shower. It has a light which can help you see any fine hairs and it comes with other attachments (shaving head and trimming comb) if you also prefer to use those for different parts of your body. The optimal contact cap is actually super helpful and I think would be beneficial for those just starting out to get used to handling the device for the best hair removal experience. My legs feel so smooth after using this!
