There’s a lot of vibrating but it doesn’t transfer to the bristles. You still have to do quite a bit of manual brushing. This toothbrush isn’t as effective as previous Sonicare purchases or even ones I found on Amazon. Inexpensive and you get what you pay for.

Removed USB C Charging

I bought this toothbrush specifically because it was supposed to be USB C. It was incredibly disappointing to open up on Christmas day to find out that Philips removed the one feature that made this worth buying.

Bought one of these a few years ago and it finally wore out after lots of travel and recharging. That one had a USB-C adaptor which was great for travel since those are fairly standard. This new version has a specific Philips adaptor to charge which isn't USB-C or USB anything for that matter. So if you buy this model, you'll be adding a new power adaptor to your collection -- just don't lose it.

I love the shape, size, and cost. I have two, but the sage colored one came with a non-standard charging port type and not the USB-C that I expected. So, I don't like this port because I'm going to lose the special charging cable and then this will be useless.

The toothbrush is perfect for travel. The off white color is adorable. The only negative is that it comes with a ‘toothbrush specific’ charger. I wish it had a standard usb-c!!! That way I don’t have to pack ANOTHER charger and keep track of it.

It’s not good for everyday use, it’s ok to take on short trip, but this is not an effective toothbrush, it’s more of a vibrating manual brush, the head is also too large for my mouth, so it’s hard to reach some spots. It is compact.

Idk how others are having issues with the battery. I bought this back in November of 2023, used it everyday, and charged it for the first time 2 weeks ago. Having a travel case included is soooo nice as well. Also a pretty good toothbrush. I like that it automatically shuts off indicating you have brushed for long enough. Really nice for my ADHD. Highly recommend. Just don't leave it in the case 24/7. Could cause mold as it would not be drying properly.

Philips Removed USB-C Compatibility

You used to be able to charge this toothbrush by directly connecting it to a USBc cord. Philips has removed this and now all new ones require a proprietary charging cord. I'll be looking elsewhere for a new toothbrush.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toothbrush is a perfect size for travel, however, it’s underpowered. I know it’s small but does that have to mean less power? It doesn’t do as good of a job of cleaning my teeth the way the bigger one does. Other than that, it’s a good toothbrush and I’d buy it again.

Molds if kept in case

erin - 4 months ago, Verified purchaser
Never before have I had a toothbrush grow mold and I can only assume it has something to do with the travel case not having enough holes for proper ventilation. I am back and forth between college and my hometown at least once a week so it seemed great being small and having a case and I loved it for the few months I had it until I noticed the mold today after leaving it at college unused in the case for only a few days. Disgusting
1 reply from Philips team - 4 months ago
Hi Erin, Thank you for sharing this review with us. We are sorry to hear about your experience with your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush. This is not the experience we want you to have. To help keep your toothbrush in top shape, make sure to rinse the brush head with clear water after each use to eliminate any toothpaste residues and germs. Don’t forget to clean the handpiece regularly, too: just pull the brush head straight off, rinse the metal shaft with warm water, and wipe the entire handpiece with a damp cloth. Let it dry completely before placing it back in the case or on the charging station, which also needs a quick clean! Keeping everything dry and clean will help avoid mold growth and maintain your toothbrush’s functionality. If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We're available 24/7 on Facebook and X (@PhilipsCare). Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Please provide a stiffer brush head

JHam - 5 months ago

After one week: Nice design, nice performance by the handle. However, the soft brush head appears to be the only choice available. For me, it's like trying to brush my teeth with a mop, and does not begin to keep up with my regular accumulation of plaque. I've seen this mentioned by others. Any chance Philips will make a firmer bristle brush head available?
