Plasticplace 12-16 Gallon Compostable Trash Bags (100 Count)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This past order, we noticed that the bags changed from white to green. We are assuming they are the same product! They are used in a private residence, not industrially. We wish they would come in smaller sizes, too, so we could line smaller containers, not just our tall kitchen container. Now we empty everything into the 12-16 gallon bag on trash day and place it in the WM can. Also, because this is for private residential use, it would be nice if we didn't have to get such large quantities; it takes forever to go through 4 HUGE rolls! AND, we have to buy our kitchen compost bags from a different source, because Plastic Place doesn't have anything compostable items under 12-16 gallon. Other than those minor complaints, the bags are great (especially with the strong, large rubber bands)! Compostable bags are hard to find!!

Although the bags show as clear and transparent they are not. In our area in order to hold recycling and/or Organics bags must be clear so these are not useful in any way. Additionally in attempting to open them they tear— while they would hold very light paper they would certainly not hold any sort of composting or Organics.

The good: these are conveniently rolled; a package lasts quite a while. I'm happy that they are compostable. The bad: These bags tear more easily than other bags I have used, but that is a minor annoyance worth putting up with, because of the good.

We are pleased that these bags are compostable, that they open easily without static, that they feel different from heavy non-biodegradable in a good way (translucent but strong), and we really appreciate the huge, durable, reusable rubber band that surrounds the rim of your wastebasket that holds each bag from falling into the container. We are just private homeowners, not a business, so we don't fill a 12-16 gallon bag each week; we wish there were a bit smaller bag with all the same qualities as the 12-16 gallon.

This bag is sturdy enough to hold several bags of kitchen trash. I like the size overall but definitely in the warm weather when I want to get rid of trash wuickly. The bag would puncture or tear if something sharp were put directly into the bag but that's not the way I use this bag.

My biggest concern was what happens when the bag is subject to wet garbage and/or liquids? Turns out they hold up well even when bag gets wet. For several days even.

Bags work well. .no ripped..no splits...just great.

Sturdy, fit well in my trash can and accommodate heavy loads. So glad I purchased and gave a few to my friend and she now wants to buy.

Roomy bags that fit just fine in my Simple Human J-bag can. Very strong.

These bags are super durable. Hard to believe they’re compostable. Makes me feel so much better about using “plastic” bags.

The bags are strong but they could be two inches wider . Not big enough for city containers for scrap food.

They seem great -- they are sturdier than the last bags I'd tried. I just received them, so I have yet to run into any problems, other than knowing that I will probably get one size smaller the next time I order. Since I am trying to focus on reducing my garbage output, I am very glad to have found decent compostable trash bags!

The bags are durable and well priced. Delivery could have been faster.

Composting is working great with these wonderful compostable trash bags.
