Plow & Hearth - Double-Bottom Galvanized Steel Fireplace Ash Bucket with Handle

Plow and hearth shipped it quickly, and received without any damage. I believe they should take the word "black" out of the coloring, it is gray, NOT black. It actually clashes with my wood stove surround and fireplace tools; will unfortunately not be able to leave on hearth as a decorative piece. I haven't actually used it yet, but the lid fits pretty snug, should hopefully be marginally air tight. It is a good size and seems somewhat sturdy, definitely not heavy to lift. Not sure what industry standard constitutes a double lined bottom, but if it is double lined the materials are abutted up right next to each other. There is no air pocket between that would help dissipate heat to bottom of container. I would be hesitant to set this on anything that would not do well with heat hitting it (like a wood floor).

Heat with wood. Hot ashes cool in the bucket and every last bit of warmth stays in the house. I just bought a second one of these ash buckets because of the tractor incident.

Great product, does its job well. But I was a bit disappointed when it arrived and I saw that it was more of a dark gray, so it didn't match my fireplace enclosure and tools, all of which are black. This wouldn't bother most people. I'll likely spray paint it some day.

It is much nicer than a bulky galvanized can -- which rust out so fast.

I'd been looking for something nice that I could put hot ashes in when I cleaned my fireplace, and this was a perfect choice. So many products like this don't have a lid.

We have this ash and loved it so bought one for relatives. Safe way to remove wood stove or fireplace ash. Just wish the cover would lash down for more safe carrying of hot ash.

This compact bucket is just the right size to hold two clean-outs of my smallish soapstone stove; doesn't get too hot to handle, and looks nice sitting beside the stove.

very attractive and sturdy

Our fireplace is used pretty nonstop in the winter. I was afraid this ash bucket would be too small to keep up with the demand, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Our previous ash container had no lid, so we could often smell and see the old ashes. Our new bucket is lidded and I love it!

I use for cleaning out ashes from the fire place. Can handle glowing embers without transferring heat to surrounding area.

Would definitely recommend this product! Looks great on my hearth.
