Q: Does the Mahogony colored bench get very hot when it's out in the sun for a long time? I have a Trex deck that gets very hot in the sun and wonder if the bench will get too hot to sit on.

A: Hi Ruth, Great question! We've designed POLYWOOD furniture to remain outdoors in all climates, but on hot days in direct sunlight, darker lumber colors readily absorb heat. On hot sunny days, we recommend testing furniture temperature with the back of your hand to make sure it's safe to sit on. Q: Are ALL Polywood rockers tested to the same standards? I love the St. Croix because it’s tested to 400lbs. I would consider other chairs if this were the case, But I’m always reading 250 pounds is the max weight limit for most of the chairs I’ see

Q: What is the weight capacity? (up to what weight of a person can this rocking chair hold safely?)

A: Hello Michelle! We don't test our products to a weight limit. We test to ASTM Standards. This St. Croix Rocking Chair passed a 400 lb static load test. It also passed an impact test that drops 150 lbs ten times from a height of 8". These are both a limit to pass as commercial grade. This is the best standard that we test to at this time. I was veryuch looking forward to these rocking chairs. I know Polywood chairs are known for comfortable chairs that will last a long time. These chairs are cute on my porch, and I am sure they will last a long time, but they are very uncomfortable. Even tried with seat cushions and pillows. Ugh, and I can't return them to Target. Very expensive porch decorations. Bummed.

Very nice quality but we should have read the dimensions- much smaller than the non-Target Polywood rocking chairs. Still fits an adult but the back is much lower. Very easy to put together and still a great buy, but definitely much smaller.

Purchased this item as a gift. It shipped in a timely manner. It was easy to assemble alone; all the hardware including the wrenches were included in the packaging. The "Sand" color goes with any other outdoor furniture. The chair is study and has held up well outside in the sun and the rain. It is comfortable to sit in and has good back support. The only thing I would change is that I would like to see the height of the seat pan just a bit higher. It sits just a tad bit too low to the ground for my taste. I would certainly buy another should the need arise.

Very easy to assemble and not as much assembly was required as the back/base and sides were already assembled. 16 screws total! I find the chairs to be comfortable, with a cushion (but not necessary). Got them on sale, but even not on sale, still a very good price.

This rocker is excellent quality and very easy to put together, however like other reviewers said very uncomfortable. I am a 5’6” female and felt that this sat very low, short seat, and straight up. Wish it was a slightly better design because the material would make it worth the price.

Amazing rocker! I bought on sale, so the price made this rocker even better. The quality of the piece is great and the 20-year warranty this comes with was above and beyond what other brands offer. I’ve gotten lots of compliments from neighbors on the two chairs I bought and they have merely seen them sitting on my patio. They look very good as a curb appeal and are super comfortable to sit in and watch the time go by!

Hello, You're so right. The back on this rocker does sit more upright. Some of our customers have added lumber pillows and seat cushions and said this has made a difference. What a great rocker! Pretty easy to put together. Just note that there are a few screws that are shorter than others, which does make a difference when you put it together. Great color, and it fits in my front entryway perfectly! Got this on sale so it was a great value.

Hello, This rocking chair is quite solid and durable and will last for many years. In terms of metal showing, it should just be the assembly hardware that is visible. The chairs are made up of the Polywood recycled lumber and doesn't have any metal pieces for assembly. There is a some texture added to the lumber so it resembles wood, but it is a smoother material.
