Q: Hi, Can other standard water jugs fit into this, or do I have to buy the Primo water jugs?
A: Thank you for reaching out to us. You can use any 5- or 3-gallon bottle with our dispensers with the exception of the brand American Maid. The way the neck of the bottles are manufactured makes them incompatible with our dispensers. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. - Michael P.

submitted byMerri - 3 years agoA: It is strange that you mention American Maid. I've used their 5 gallon bottles with this unit.

Q: Wait, does the actual outside neck of the water jug sit in the water you're going to drink since it's placed in this cistern upside down?
A: Hi - Great question! No, the top of the bottle is not exposed to the flowing water once placed into your dispenser.

Q: If you don’t want to use a 3 or 5 gallon bottle and just want to fill the dispenser, does it come with a lid you can use? What is the tallest glass size that you can fit under the spigot?
A: Hello, The ceramic tabletop water dispenser is designed for the 3-or 5-gallon bottle use. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with a lid. With the stand you can fit a standard 16 oz glass under the spigot.

Q: Mine arrived and there is a strong chemical smell from the inside of the ceramic container. What is the interior lined with to make it watertight?
A: Thank you for reaching out, Sunu. The ceramic tabletop dispenser does not have any type of internal lining and is only glazed on the outside. We recommend handwashing this dispenser before use. Please contact us at social@primowater.com if you need any further assistance.

Q: Can this hold 5 gallon GLASS bottle or plastic only?
A: Hi - Great question! Our bottom loading dispensers work best with bottles that have a neck with a 55 mm outer diameter (like our bottles). However, glass bottlenecks may be thicker and could cause issues with the bottle probe fitting. If you choose to use a glass bottle with a top-loading dispenser, be sure to anchor the dispenser to the wall to keep it from tipping over.

Q: Does this come with a water jug?
A: Thank you for your feedback. Our dispensers come with coupons to use for pre-filled exchange water and for a fill at a refill station.

Q: Is the opening at the top big enough to get inside and clean the jug?
A: Hi Sm, thanks for reaching out. To ensure the highest quality water, bottles should be rinsed with baking soda before each use and sterilized Clorox-brand, unscented bleach that is an EPA registered sanitizer every six months. Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda per gallon of water, place cap on the bottle and shake. Rinse thoroughly and allow the bottle to air dry. To sterilize every six months: Add ½ teaspoon of Clorox-brand, unscented bleach per gallon of water Swish water around and let stand for 3 minutes Pour out and thoroughly rinse until water is clear and no scent can be detected Air dry Seal container
