Description
In Colombia, luminosa means "shining or bright". Peet's Luminosa Breakfast Blend Light Roast Coffee layers subtle sweetness from Colombia with just the right touch of Ethiopia floral aromatics—a pair we knew would go perfectly together. We started with a coffee from the Huila region in Colombia's highlands, a place where beans are cultivated over 4,500 feet and known for their smooth, sweet character. Then to Ethiopia, coffee's birthplace, where unique varieties yield exquisite coffees with delicate aromas. Formerly known as Colombia Luminosa, we approached this bright blend, our first light roast, as we do all our coffees: carefully select the very best beans, then hand roast them in small batches to achieve their utmost flavor.

My only criticism is that it did not have the quality of a real fresh roasted bean coffee. I admit I am spoiled by my decades of coffee searching. I loved the flavor kernel. I wanted a little more ;)

Being a light roast, I find the Luminosa Breakfast Blend is a perfect taste to wake up to, definitely not as bitter or over-bearing as some dark roasts are, at least for my individual tastes, and is even mild enough to carry through the rest of the day. I typically brew a full pot in the early morning and the blend does very well into the afternoon hours, with a microwave zap for those later cups, of course. I have been using the Luminosa blend for a number of years now, so it’s my go-to kick start each morning! Love it!

I look forward with excitement to the release of the Holiday Blend and always buy as much as I can drink. This year's edition was one of the best ever. I am sad to see it end. I order the espresso grind to use in a stove top mocha pot (whole beans to grind for use in a Fellows coffee maker.) The grind is perfect for creating enough pressure without overpacking the funnel.
