Q: What is the difference between Country White and Mountain White Canyon Bakehouse brands?

A: I believe the Mountain white is made without Canola oil which the other products are.

Our Mountain White is an 18oz loaf sold in the freezer. Our Country White bread is a 15oz loaf sold in our “Stay-Fresh” packaging which allows us to store it on shelf without the need to freeze. It’s primarily a preference on where you shop for gluten free products!

Q: where is this located in the store? i went there specifically for it today and only found Udi's in the frozen section and could not find it or a location where it looked like it would've been. thanks!

A: Every Target is different, but at my Target, it's in the produce section near other baked goods. They don't keep it frozen. I take it home and freeze extra loaves and haven't had an issue with spoilage yet.

This is a great GF bread, at a good price. Unfortunately, my store in Dallas doesn’t seem to be able to keep it in stock. If someone is working in bakery, I have to ask them to go to the freezer and get it; but there’s rarely anyone working that department. Wish they’d just unpack their delivery and stock it.

The Mountain White does not contain potato starch for which I am so grateful. It is very difficult to find gluten free breads without it. Potatoes are a nightshade and very triggering for my son's autoimmune disease.

I always buy canyon house multi grain & the first time I bought the white bread, I discovered the WHOLE LOAF was terrifyingly covered in blue/green mold. It was unopened & won’t expire until May (over a month away). Not sure how this happened but I’m disturbed & going back to return it. Check the loaf before you check out.

This bread tastes incredible! Unfortunately, not only are the slices smaller than that of Wonder bread (child size) but the amount of calories for that slice is awful. A normal slice of regular sized bread is approximately 60 calories. This bread which is almost half the size has 70 calories! I'm not sure what canyon bakehouse adds to the gluten free bread or what high calorie flour they might use but I just can't believe it. You need to make 2 sandwiches in order to get the same amount of 1 normal bread sandwich but be warned if you do, you will have 280 calories instead of 120. :(
