I was a big fan of Fitbit; until my Charge 6 broke. I had been reading about Garmin. and decided to give them a try. I probably bought more capability than I currently need, but what I use has been phenomenal. That battery life is insanely long. The interface with other hardware or software is incredible. As my knowledge of how to use more grows, I am sure I will be even more of a fan.

I have owned the Garmin six for many years. I went to the Garmin seven because the touchscreen makes it much easier to move around through the apps.

Garmin Fenix 7 – A Watch That Does More With Less Clutter After using both the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the Garmin Fenix 7, I can confidently say that the Fenix 7 stands out by delivering more functionality with less clutter—no extra apps, no subscriptions, just everything you need right out of the box. Key Features That Make a Difference Heart Rate Broadcasting – My Fenix 7 can share my heart rate with other devices, making it perfect for syncing with bike computers, fitness equipment, or other apps. Sleep Insights Without an App – No need to dig into an app; the watch itself provides detailed sleep analysis directly on my wrist. Performance & Body Battery – It tracks VO2 Max, endurance, training status, and readiness, helping me understand how my body is performing and recovering. Motivation Without Distractions – Unlike other smartwatches that require third-party apps and subscriptions, the Fenix 7 provides built-in motivation tools with no extra downloads needed. Seamless iPhone Integration – While it doesn’t have the deep Apple ecosystem ties of the Ultra 2, it still shows all the essential notifications and functions I need. Why It Beats the Apple Watch Ultra 2 While the Ultra 2 is a great smartwatch, it feels app-dependent and cluttered with features that often require additional purchases. The Fenix 7, on the other hand, is a pure performance tool, giving me all the stats that matter without extra costs or distractions. It’s simple, elegant, and designed for those who care about performance over gimmicks. If you want a watch that just works—with no extra apps, no subscriptions, and no unnecessary distractions—the Garmin Fenix 7 is the clear winner.

About a month since I purchased the Fenix 7, and I am so impressed with the ease of use and the ability to use both side buttons and touch screen. The swim app tracks accurately, sleep app helpful, pickelball apps great too. Synchs w my Garmin app on my phone which gives me more information. Very satisfied

Im very happy with the Watch ,and spent some time with it. I really like the screen outside in the sun ,so easy to see. But I don’t like the colors and sharpness of the screen when using backlight in a dark room. It’s very poor colors and seems blurry and old fashion. So when you download a new screen ,it’s not the same colors and picture on the watch…. Maybe this is because it’s 240 pixels,or maybe the software update. Or maybe I just have the wrong watch:-) Fenix 8 has 480 pixels, Moore expensive, but maybe ….. I really like the look of the watch and the quality ,and the brand. I love the connect app and ConnectIQ,it’s easy to set up and have a fantastic manual. It’s no problem to recommend this watch, but if I should be 100% satisfie, a have to go up to Fenix 8 or a Garmin watch with 480 pixels.

Had for a month. Was using an Instinct for the last 2 years. Loved all the health data, quality of sleep, hydration, balancing the stress. I didn’t use the activity functions (running with GPS, cause it drained the battery. Battery life on the Fenix is phenomenal. Used the snowboarding activity and it hardly touched the battery, start/stop each run. Top speed, where I was (GPS) for those runs on the mountain. It monitors my sleep and stress to the next level- even warns me. Awareness is half the battle. Got it for the more professional/polished look for work and suits, but got so more than great looks!

I have owned this watch for over a month. I am impressed with its ability to track my workouts, heart rate, steps, distance, etc. Heart rate tracking seems to be much improved from previous Garmin watches. I have only done some easy hikes so far but from those I think it will make a great hiking watch and also for skiing. Some people won't be happy with the learning curve to make use of this watch. I have owned previous Garmin watches and was able to learn with some small amount of trouble. If you are new to these watches then be sure to get the user manual which is over 100 pages. It covers every activity known to man. You will only need to read about 10-15 pages to get the idea on how to use the watch. Battery life is really good! I wish they had a better way to track local temperatures especially when you are not near an airport of whatever they use to get the temperature.

I don't go easy on my watch and it is generally with me 23 + hours per day from office work to outside adventure. The fenix 7 is amazingly rugged through it all and informative for all my health monitoring needs.

I REALLY like my new fenix7. This is an upgrade from the Vivoactive3 that I also like. I am enjoying the additional data points I get from the fenix7 and I am enjoying learning more about the features as I go. I am also looking forward to using this in open water and in triathlons this summer. There is a learning curve, but there is with any technology that is new to me. If there was a downside, it would be that it is bulkier than my Vivoactive3, but with more "brainpower" it only makes sense. I will be curious to see how that effects getting my wetsuit off when doing triathlon. I was considering getting a heartrate strap, which I still believe is the gold standard, but the wrist heartrate seems pretty darn accurate. So far, so good!

First off I absolutely loved the watch and the fenix but I kept getting a skin reaction where the sensor is located im thinking maybe from the metal or how the sensor wasn't flat ? I sent it back and ordered the venu 3 I would really like another fenix if there are any with a flat sensor any suggestions?

I have returned my Fénix 7 3 times already and get a replacement that ends up having the same issue with the lap button malfunctioning. First time I got a refurbished watch and in my first swim it stopped working. It is unbelievable that Garmin can continue to sell this Fénix 7 model that clearly does not work. Don’t buy this watch!

I've used the watch for about two weeks now and it has been a joy so far. I'm a wildland firefighter and it definitely holds up to the daily routine. I am a very big fan of the customization and how specific you can make things. A super neat and useful thing is that I can get pretty precise coordinates for my position which is really useful for giving accurate lat/longs when out on fires. The long battery life is pretty cool too, it lasts much longer than our two week rolls so I never have to stress about it dying when we're out on a fire in the boonies. The data that I can get about everything from how well I slept to how many calories I burnt running, with my exact pace and distance, is astounding and I love it. I strongly recommend the Garmin Fenix 7 if you have the money for it.

I was looking for a watch that would track my hiking and workouts with topographic maps and a battery that lasts for multiple days and is dependable. The garmin Felix 7 is perfect. It’s pretty intuitive to set up. The only challenge was the syncing it to my phone.

I got it about three weeks ago and it seemed to be working. Great I love The sleep monitor and being able to Have whatever watch style I want. It is very complicated to find good documentation showing exactly how to load and find GPX files for routes and tracking. And I do wish the seven had enough room so that points of interest categories could be added
