The taste is normally fine, although sometimes there’s a moldy sesame seed, edamame or carrot. The main issue with these frozen meals is the packaging. It’s extremely difficult to actually open the box. None of the tear-away labels work. This has been an issue for years and it still hasn’t been addressed. In addition, the new bowls are not as sturdy and sometimes the film is already coming apart and as a result, there’s bits and pieces of food that have spilled inside the box. I had one meal today that was glued to the box and impossible to even remove. Please address these issues once and for all!!

First time purchasing vegan frozen entrees which happened to be on sale 3 for $12.00, last week, so I decided to give those a try. I was happily surprised. Very tasty and the portion is rather substantial. The noodles are especially good. I will definitely purchase this item again!

Pretty good, but not what I expected. Fairly large serving. The noodles are the best part- thick and super chewy. I didn’t care for the carrots, as they tasted very ‘frozen carrot’, but that’s what they are! I needed to add some Japanese bbq sauce because the salt level was not hitting for me. I had high hopes for this, but overall it was yummy.

I've eaten all of the Purple Carrot frozen meals and subscribed to their meal service, so I'm generally a fan, but this was borderline inedible. It stank so strongly of mushrooms that I had to throw the bowl away in another room, the sauce was just kind of watery without any actual flavor, and the noodles and edamame were only about half cooked. I regret forcing myself to eat it because the taste lingers, even after eating something different. This one is a miss.

I don't watch my sodium that closely but 900 mg for one meal is a lot of sodium. Unsurprisingly this meal is on the salty side, but it is otherwise tasty. I don't always love vegan beef substitutes but I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well it Incorporated with the noodles. Vegetables had a great texture and a good quantity. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the noodles. Maybe they overcooked them, because mine were nicely chewy without being rubbery or too mushy.

Pros: ready in 4 mins, tastes great (idk why reviews mention that it’s sweet, I get a tiny bit of spicy but not sweet?), meat and veg have good texture, 1 bowl is filling. Calories aren’t bad for a meal with 18g of protein. Cons: sodium content is 900g per bowl which is pretty crazy. Wish there were more carrots and mushrooms. I’m not vegan or vegetarian and this is absolutely delicious. Probably wouldn’t eat very often because of the salt content, but overall I would buy this and recommend it.

I dont usually eat vegan foods with meat substitutes but due to my work schedule I eat a lot of frozen meals and this is the closest thing to a home cooked meal. Literally so tasty and filling.

Decent sized portion that is filling. The noodles have a great texture and I love how the soybeans give it a good texture with the noodles. I find myself going back to this one for office lunches and I'm not a vegetarian.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. It’s just gross- weird texture udon, faux meat & mushrooms overpowered the whole thing and just made it, for lack of a better term, weird. I will rarely throw food away, but this one got two bites & went straight to the bin. Save your money.

This has a little bit more sodium than I'd prefer, but otherwise is a flavorful and protein heavy vegan meal. The noodle texture is good (they're udon, they're supposed to be thick and chewy).

The flavor was actually really good. The issue is the texture of the noodles. I followed package directions and it came out chewy. Also not a ton of food so if you have an appetite then plan to add something to this.

Aside from looking a bit more colorful, the picture on the box is pretty spot on. They didn't skimp on any of the ingredients and the flavor was good. There was a slight spicy kick to it. Even the ground beef was pretty close to the real thing. I liked it.
