Q: Ready, Set, Food! Stage 3 has more allergens than the Stage 1 & 2. Does the Stage 3 introduce each of these new allergens individually to gauge reactions or is it all together in every packet?

submitted by Chris - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Chris, Our Stage 3 Mix-In with multiple allergens is designed to follow our Stage 1 and 2 sequential allergen introduction system. It is also designed to be introduced at an age when babies are most likely exposed to multiple different foods and allergens at once. This will not introduce the allergens one at a time such as we do in Stage 1. Thank you for your question!

Q: Can I mix the stage 3 packets into a bottle with formula or can it only be mixed into food?

submitted by Amy - 5 months ago
  • A: Thank you for your question! Our Stage 3 Mix-Ins can only be mixed into food. Our Stage 1 & Stage 2 Mix-Ins can be easily mixed into a bottle with milk or formula, while introducing the top 3 allergens in daily pre-measured packets.

For the people saying this don't work. Maybe it just don't work for your child who already has unknown food allergens and should see an allergist instead… This product gas helped me finding my daughters allergies and surprisingly she doesn't have an egg allergy like myself. Plus if you add it to water (formula) it is like the milk itself with an egg and peanut taste. I have to try her nut allergies. Like walnuts, cashews…and soy. Also by waiting till 1 or 2 you are more likely to develop more issues to intolerances. My child had an issue on Cerebelly organic baby before this

GREAT, ROOM TO IMPROVE

I loved the stage 1 and 2 allergen introduction system especially because they slowly introduced allergens one at a time. My biggest issue with stage 3 is with the introduction of multiple tree nuts, soy and sesame, there is NO ramp up system with the packets. We didn’t feel comfortable doing all at once (older child already has allergy to some tree nuts) so we slowly increased amounts of the stage 3 packets over the course of a week to ensure tolerance and monitor allergy effect. Please consider adopting a slow introduction system for the stage 3 packets!

Doesn’t taste good

I’ve been trying to gov this to my daughter for around two weeks. She sometimes drinks around 3/4 of a bottle with the mix in, something around 1/2, never the whole bottle. It’s been helpful in that I feel pretty confident it’s slowly introducing allergens and she doesn’t have any major reactions, but she clearly doesn’t like the taste.

Thicker consistency

Amazing product for maintaining allergens! Biggest difference from step 2 is this powder is way thicker. It can’t be mixed in the bottle. Gotta be mixed with some sort of food. If your child can drink from an open cup you could try that. But will definitely clog the nipple.

My child gagged and refused food every time we used it. She even threw up after one use. We followed the directions, and placed it in oatmeal and purées. Unfortunately it did not work for us.

Works well at exposing our little one to allergens. Luckily he likes the flavor, but it is noteworthy that it adds a nutty flavor to foods.

All allergens at once

2 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
CR13 - 1 year ago, Verified purchaser
The Stage 1 version introduced one allergen at a time, so I thought that’s how Stage 3 (Grow) would be also. Instead, all the packets contain all 9 allergens - there’s no way to test one allergen at a time to see what might be causing a reaction. Hoping I can return an open but unused box - there’s nothing on their website or on the listing here to show this is how the packets are structured.

After using this product, I'm more of a firm believer. We should not introduce this to children until the age of 2. The hospital was shocked when I showed him this product that it was even out on the shelves.

Such a brilliant product - I started off grinding my own peanuts to add to baby food, hoping to prevent a peanut allergy, but when I heard about RSF, it not only made my life easier but included more potential allergens, so, win-win. We've been using it since my son was 6 months old, and now we plan to use it with our second, who was just born. So glad we found it!

Happy baby means happy parents

I was so worried once my baby turned 6 months and we were going to start food. Right before turning 6 months my child started to get skin irritations. At one point his entire back broke out with red spots. He was diagnosed with either mild case of eczema or dry skin. If it was eczema that then increases a child’s chances of food allergies. In the beginning with your kids eating they aren’t getting the proper amount of eggs, dairy and peanut butter everyday. With Ready Set Food I knew that he was getting these 3 items everyday no matter what else he ate that day. My child is going to be a year in a month and so far no signs of a good allergy. I’m so thankful for this product and will definitely use it on our next child. Thank you.

Early Steps

I wish I had found this sooner once I found I told all my mom friends with new babies. This is a great product and packaged with care and purpose. I love the small increase pictures that indicate what baby is being introduced to and then the maintenance packs. My son is lactose intolerant and followed in my footprint but this product is so helpful for early introductory to possible allergies and that’s so important to know.

Peace of Mind

I can't recommend this product enough! I tell all my family and friends about it, and some have said, oh we already use something like that but it's definitely not even close to the same way this system works. I love that it can be easily added to my baby's bottle and how it gave me and my husband peace of mind not only with her demonstrating no reaction but with the way the system gradually introduces peanuts, eggs and milk. It's awesome and there's nothing else like it out there. I recommend all parents use this system.

BEST ALLERGEN INTRODUCTION PRODUCT!

5 out of 5 stars
Erin B. - 5 years ago
originally posted on Ready, Set, Food!
First and foremost, I just want to say that my review of this product is completely unbiased, and all opinions expressed below are my own. I was not compensated for this review in any way. With that being said, I am SO beyond thankful for this amazing product! As a first time parent and someone who has worked in childcare for over a decade, Ive witnessed firsthand the toll that food allergies take on not just the child affected, but on their entire family as well. While pregnant, I began my research into early allergen introduction, and I was shocked to find so many different products on the market that were only exposing babies to one allergen, or could only be administered into their food. Considering how many parents wait before introducing any solids to their little one, I grew concerned over not being able to expose our daughter at an earlier age. Enter Ready, Set, Food! Their website was extremely informative, and I loved that they included a comparative chart that showed the differences between their product and their competitors. Plus, as a Mom who has been exclusively breastfeeding our daughter since birth, (shes turning one at the end of this month), I loved that I only had to use two ounces of my milk to mix in to administer the packet to her. Another added bonus? They have the HEAD of the Childhood Allergy Department at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia on their advisory board. Growing up in Philadelphia and having many different friends and family members who work at CHOP, I knew that this fact alone meant that Ready, Set, Food was a cut above the rest. I CANNOT recommend this product enough! Our daughter was on it for eight months, and she has successfully been eating a lot of foods that are considered to be high risk for developing allergies. THANK YOU READY, SET, FOOD! Youve not only given this Momma peace of mind; youve allowed my Husband and I to easily introduce these allergens to our daughter in the safest way possible. For that, I will be eternally grateful.

Convenient packets to help expose baby to common allergens

5 out of 5 stars
Jessica D - 5 years ago
originally posted on Ready, Set, Food!
I appreciated how simple this product was - it was very easy to put in a bottle and give to my baby every day. My baby loved the taste and it made daily exposure to these allergens very simple. The packet doesn't tear easily so I would have to be someplace with scissors, that was the only inconvenience. Other than that, an all around great product. I hope this helps prevent allergies in many children!!
