Description

Philips Avent Glass Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. We recommend using the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle with Philips Avent Natural bottle nipples. Includes: 3 8oz Glass Natural bottle with Natural Response nipple flow 3. SCY913/03

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Packaging uses 100% plastic alternative, FSC-certified paper, with great potential to be widely circular for majority of product packaging.

Q: does this work with breast pumps

  • A: These bottles do fit my spectra pump flange, yes! I like pumping into them to avoid collecting milk in glass. However, the fit between the plastic flange and glass bottle isn’t perfectly snug, so you have to watch to be sure it doesn’t come unscrewed.

Those saying they cant get milk out, read this

In order to have the milk flow, align the little notch on the nipple with the notch on the white piece. I had no clue you had to do this until 2 weeks using these bottles and I was ready to throw them away. I also upped the nipple size to a 4 (baby is 11 weeks) and that’s a good flow for him. 3 was too slow. Aside from those issues- I love these bottles but Invest in the silicone sleeves for them, as they’re super easy to get hairline cracks in them near the bottom. I’ve had to replace some already but now I know. Also they’re more prone to cracks if you’re hearing them from cold to hot on a bottle warmer due to a fast temp change. Most glass would do that. I use a water dispenser that dispenses warm water and then mix the formula. Might be a difficult bottle to use with cold breastmilk if your baby needs it warmed. Just something to consider. With frozen breastmilk, Iwarm it by keeping it in the storage bag and sitting it in warm water in a yeti for a few mins and then transferring to the bottle. Overall I’m very happy with these bottles and with proper care they’ll last until he’s done with bottles and ultimately be cheaper than replacing plastic bottles every few months as they get nasty.

Lids gets untwisted easliy

Eve - 16 days ago, Verified purchaser
The bottle itself is great but the lid gets untwisted so easily. Wasted so much milk because of it. We’d switch to different bottles but this is the only nipple my baby would take. Very frustrating. You’d think a big brand like this wouldn’t have issues like that especially how long these bottles have been around. Also the amount of people have complained about this, you’ll think they’d have made change by now.

Best bottke for my 2 month old

Jmat - 16 days ago
I’m genuinely confused by the negative reviews. We switched from Dr. Browns to this bottle and it has helped my reflux baby tremendously. I do agree with others regarding the nipple sizing. Finding the right nipple size for your little one can be a little confusing. We tried the flow 2 and 3. Both were both too slow for my 2 month old. However, I’ve read others use the flow 3 for their 2-3 month old babies and they do just fine. It just depends on your baby and their preference. We use flow 4 which currently I can only find on Amazon. I dropped one of the bottles on my ceramic floor and it didn’t crack or break. I fully expected it to shatter everywhere. Also, we have had no leakage issues. The nipples have a small indent on them. That indent needs to be lined up with the rims indent. I would say if anyone is hesitant, buy the singular bottle first to see how it works. Then you won’t waste money on a pack if it doesn’t work out.

Almost all of our glass advent bottles bought in the past year (14) have cracked up or beside the seam of the bottle. Not from being dropped or mishandled- extremely frustrating as they’re expensive and we buy glass for multiple reasons but one being they should last a long time.

Leaking is what these bottles do best

1 out of 5 stars

These are the most infuriating and frustrating bottles we have ever bought. The design is horrible, if you don't close the top just the right way the bottles will leak out. Even when you think you have tightened the top enough, milk will still leak out. Horrible, especially since these bottles are in the pricier end. Save yourself aggravation and go with a different product.

The absolute best bottles

The best bottles EVER. I was nervous for glass bottles at first but they have exceeded my expectation. I was nervous about breaking them but I have only broke one and it was a full 8oz that rolled off the counter. Empty or almost empty bottles that I have dropped haven’t broken. They are a little heavier for baby when they’re learning so I recommend buying the handles as well. Another plus to these bottles is there are only 3 main parts plus a lid!

Detrimental hairline cracks in the bottles

1 out of 5 stars
Worriedmom - 2 months ago
originally posted on philips.com
Our baby loves this bottle for feeding and we have purchased 7 of these 8oz glass bottles. But, recently we found hairline cracks on all of the glass bottles, which is kind of making us skeptical to use them for feeding. We are not sure if this is safe for feeding since tiny minute glass particles which are not visible can cause harm to the baby. Philip Avent should have include some sort of an indicator in the design of the bottles so that we can readily understand that the bottle should be replaced.

Hi, Thank you for bringing this to our attention, it must have been a great gift and it is so sad to see this happen. We take the quality of our products and especially the safety of our customers very seriously and we are glad that the bottle did not shatter or injure anyone. One reason that might have happened is the sudden change of the glass temperature. However, we would like to look into it for you and find a way to resolve this issue. No shatterproof?

Not shatterproof. Ive been using the bottle for over a year now I was glad to see additional nipples such as the sippy and straw tips. Last night my son dropped it and it completely shattered the glass shards even cut him. I would like to still recommend and use this product but I would like to see a silicone cover to protect from shattering. Also I would praise that they were shatter proof because there has been countless times where I drop it even on pavement and it never shattered, so I'm not sure if maybe the glass gets worn out or what happened to its durability because it wasn’t a hard drop at all and it just went into a pieces.

Hi, Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we are sorry to hear about your experience with the bottle shattering. Your son’s safety and well-being are our top priorities, and we apologize for the distress this has caused. We value your suggestion regarding the silicone cover to protect the bottle from shattering and will pass this feedback on to our product development team. It’s important for us to understand why the glass broke despite previous durability, and we would appreciate the opportunity to investigate further. Please contact us directly to discuss this issue in more detail and to explore options for replacing your bottle. Dislike the fact that these bottles crack easily. Went to buy bottles and they were all cracked without even being used. I had to return those. Used a couple bottle for less than a few weeks and they cracked without being dropped or mistreated while washing as I hand wash all bottles. Sucks they break so easily!

While the bottle is sturdy in design and easy to clean/throw into the dishwasher, it does have a tendency to leak especially if the bottle isn’t screwed on the right way. You’d have to tip the bottle over to check whether you sealed it properly and too many times I had milk leak all over my hand and baby. This is pretty disheartening as a mother who provides breast milk to her baby as it wastes milk.
