A: Hi - you can use a lower wattage bulb if you like. The maximum wattage the socket is rated for is a 100 watt bulb, but you can always use a lower wattage if you wish. Thank you for the question.

The candlestick lamps are beautiful and look exactly as portrayed in the picture, except for the color. I ordered the whitewash finish and mine are very dark. I almost wonder if I was sent the bronze lamps by mistake. Had mine been light, like I expected, I would rate five stars.

Delivery was fast. It’s a Beautiful lamp, but a little disappointed because it is definitely darker than I hoped. Not much of a white wash..more bronze.

Base is dark, not much whitewash. The shades are cocoa brown, definitely not the off-white/ivory shown. Regardless how bright the bulb, the cocoa shades will never be the light color shown. Overall, super disappointing.
