submitted byShelly H - 4 years agoTarget staff supportA: The markings on the bag say PET OPP PE and has a #7 (other) recycling symbol. This means that the plastic is somewhat stiff (not filmy), translucent but not clear, and probably won't be recycled.

submitted byAngela - 4 years agoTarget staff supportA: You are right, Ioria74, they are much too large to fit on the top rack; it's a silly recommendation. You would need to set them up in a way that the water reaches every corner, which isn't possible on top. All you can hope for is that your next dishwasher is one without a heating element, so you can place the bags over a few tines on the bottom rack. I have one of those German wonder machines and they specifically mention in the manual that you can put all your (dishwasher-safe) plastic items wherever they fit. (Yes, I'm a very happy owner, for more than that reason.) For now, though, you'll need to clean them manually.

Q: Just bought these but the design confuses me. There’s a semi-circle shaped, double-ply section of plastic inside the bottom of the bag that doesn’t open, so I don’t see how to make the bag stand up. What’s the purpose of that plastic? Can someone explain?

Q: what is the point of the "unique dishwasher drain holes"? washing in the dishwasher is key to me but I don't get how the product designer intended for that to happen. bottom rack delicate?

A: Hello - Great question! This product is dishwasher safe and the top rack is recommended to avoid meting if product touches heating element of the dishwasher. Here is an explanation to WHY we have holes, attachment shows proper dishwasher care of the product.. 1. Open the bag 2. Flip the bag upside down 3. Water collects in the bottom of the bag (which becomes the top when it’s upside down) 4. The holes in the corner of the bag allow that dishwasher water to drain out Have a great day! - Queen

Awesome, glad to find these, perfect for when I cut up all my peppers or lettuce head or ham or whatever. I like the sandwich bag version because it's easy to put them in the dishwasher, these are big so idk if they fit standing up in there so I just wash by hand and rinse with vinegar.

While I’m a big advocate for sustainable alternatives for everyday disposables, these just aren’t my top choice. The bags feel quite stiff, and the zippers tend to come undone. They might work for non-perishable storage (like puzzle pieces), but I wouldn’t fully trust them to prevent freezer burn or keep snacks from spilling.

I bought these to avoid using so many Ziplocs. Unfortunately, I got 2 uses out of 3 different bags before the zipper seal pulled away from the bag, making it unusable anymore. Not a good investment. Would not recommend.

Bags are almost impossible to reseal and open again. The first bag I have used only a few times now has the zipper separating from the bag itself. Very poor design.

One side’s zipper came off when I was opening one of the bags. It also takes a good amount of effort to fully seal since you need to press down on every inch of the zipper. I do like that it’s dishwasher safe so I use it to store some raw meats.

They tend to wear down too fast. I’ve had quite a few rip at the top where they close together, and making them unusable because you can no longer seal them. I like the design and function of them, but they need to increase the quality of these if you expect them to them longer than a single year

The seals on my bags all broke within probably a week and a half of use. The seal separated from the bag itself. The point is to help the environment by purchasing an alternative to single use plastics, however, these breaking so easily means you would have to repurchase more frequently. They are also frustrating to wash and dry, and hard to seal and open.

These are great in theory but annoying to wash since they’re so big and don’t fit in the sink. Wouldn’t recommend washing them in the dishwasher since you shouldn’t wash plastics in there, so you can only hand wash.

Got these for my smoothie ingredients in the freezer. But they take up space and are a pain to open and close - do not recommend. Yes they stand up to make them easier to fill, but then they take up a huge amount of space in the freezer. They also don’t seal super well, so even after I’ve closed them (going over it several times), they often pop open anyways (even when they aren’t full).

They’re fine, but not great. They lock in odor and even after hand washing and running thru the dishwasher, they still stink. I think they’re great for dry food storage but other than that, I ended up tossing them out.
