Q: Will this protect food from bacteria
A: Yes absolutely, and it will remove all the bacteria from your digestive system as well.
submitted by7Crucible - 5 years agoA: We do not recommend Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray for use on food or surfaces that will have direct contact with food, since it is not a food-grade coating. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3
submitted byRust-OleumSupport - 4 years agoBrand expertA: You can't eat spray paint. Its not for food.

Q: Can this spray be used to restore yellowed car head lamps?
A: No. You have to get rid of the yellow first, which requires wet sanding with 1500 or 2000 grit. Then buffing with plastic compound, but thruth be told any rubbing compound would work except the aggressive cutting type. Headlight restoration kits are available, probably on here but if not, Harbor Freight has a kit for cheap. I suppose you can spray this product for long term protection AFTERWARDS, like a clearcoat.
submitted byScreen name - 5 years agoA: After clearing my headlights with the appropriate sandpaper, compounding and polishing materials on my dull and yellow headlamps I coated them with this product. After 18 months they turned yellow.
submitted by - 4 years agoA: Thank you for reaching out. Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Clear Spray is not recommended for use on car headlights. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Q: Can I use it to paint cardboard? Specifically Tri fold?
A: Great question! Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint is not recommended for tri-fold cardboard. When the cardboard moves, the paint will chip and peel. Currently, we do not have a paint suitable for painting cardboard. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 15

Q: After spraying this on furniture, should you use a top coat? If so, what should you finish it with?
A: Great question, Michelle. While a top coat isn't absolutely necessary with the Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover 2X Spray, it can add to the durability and longevity of the finish. We recommend sticking with the same product line for the topcoat with our Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover 2X Clear Spray. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

Q: Can I just spray this on to my new car headlights so I dont have to do all the sanding when it gets to that point..?
A: We appreciate your interest. While Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Clear Spray can be used on most plastic surfaces, most headlights are manufactured in such away that prevents full adhesion of the coating. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3
submitted byRust-OleumSupport - 4 years agoBrand expertA: Yes, I recommend three coats, with atleast 5minutes in between coating.

Q: is the sealant waterproof?
A: I don't know but Rust o leum has a "Never Wet" line of aerosol spray products. Try searching for that. Thompson also makes an all purpose spray protectant for about $5
submitted byScreen name - 5 years agoA: Thank you for reaching out, Emma. Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Clear Spray is not considered a waterproofing product. However, it can be used on exterior surfaces and be exposed to the elements. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Q: Would this product be suitable to spray a closet made of cedar particleboard to prevent chips from flaking off? That is, would it bind things together?
A: Happy to help. While Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Clear Spray is suitable for use on particleboard, it is not a binding product and this product should only be used on sound surfaces. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3
submitted byRust-OleumSupport - 4 years agoBrand expertA: I would go with a sealant designed for wood. Shellac is tried and true as well as non-toxic. Bull's-eye makes a aerosol version, but you'd save a lot more, with the traditional paint on kind. Another non-toxic option is a multi-purpose glue called Weldbond. This stuff I personally like because while it's a pretty awesome glue on its own, it's also versatile. When you dilute it 5 to 1 with water, it becomes an effective sealant for porous surfaces. I'm not sure what you meant by bonding, butif you wanted to glue that particle board together. You would have to seal it first anyways to be able to glue strong bonds. The Weldbond can do both. Just FYI, I don't work for any of these products lol. I'm not a moocher of free products for a fake review. just a regular guy who pays hard earned denarious to know these products. To be fair, I don't know if this product is toxic or not. I just know the ones I mentioned for sure are not.
