Safety 1st Multi-Purpose Appliance Lock - 2pk - White

This broke the first day when my wife accidentally closed the door on it. Would’ve loved to get more than a day out of it!

This product will pop off of you have French doors on your fridge.

I use these locks on my freezer doors. They work well and are easy to open IF you install the female end on the front of the freezer. One hand operation is simple. Problem is, the male end (the tab on the vinyl strap) is the one that always breaks. But it is REPLACEABLE. So why don't they include an extra tab or two in each package to save time when one breaks unexpectedly? Hmmmm?

This lock came in handy because my toddler likes to open the microwave. With the help of this Saftey 1st lock my toddler had no chance at opening the microwave. We really needed this and my toddler didn't even see it coming.

I was a little worried it would be difficult to install but was actually quite easy. It helped a lot in keeping an exploding toddler out of things. I do think some other products could potentially do a better job depending on the strength of your toddler. Overall, it worked well and I was pleased!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have triplets that are 19.5 months old. They are always getting into the kitchen cabinets or pantry when I let them loose (which isn't often). Haha! I felt like this was pretty easy to install and even with 3 toddlers yanking at it stood up to the job pretty well! I do have to say it doesn't fit every situation/appliance, but every product doesn't so that's to be expected. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall the safety latches were easy to install. Just follow the instructions given and remember to clean the surface first for good adhesion. They are effective for keeping little hands and bodies out of cabinets and appliances, but it can be a smal hassel opening the latch every time. You get used to it though, and it is worth it. The two pack is convenient. I do recommend these for a side by side fridge though as the only location that would effectively work is the very top. They work great for a washing machine and dishwasher.

If you have a child intent on getting into appliances (oven, washing machine, etc) it will definitely prevent that. However, I found that i could use this on only 1 appliance - my oven. All other appliances (dishwasher, top loading washer, refrigerator) either were not installed a way that I could attach this strap OR they weren't needed. That being said, it was an easy install and fairly easy to use. Mildly annoying, perhaps, but most child safety items are :) Overall, I would say, check your appliance to see if this can be used and go for it if you feel you need to prevent your child from breaking into an appliance. We use it on the fridge, and it has prevented her from opening and pulling out all the glass jars that would break on the tile.

I love that the Multi Purpose Appliance Strap is great for more than just the oven and fridge, it also works well with any extra cupboards you may not want the baby getting into. Strong and hold well, plus easy to install. It takes seconds for a toddler to get into something they shouldn't, products like this give you piece of mind that you just can't buy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These appliance straps really bring peace of mind when you have toddlers who run around the house and are full of curiosity! For me personally, my little one is always opening the refrigerator and trying to climb inside to find a snack. Not only is this a hastle having to chase after him to close it and remove him, but it's a safety hazard as well. With the safety strap, I don't have to worry about him opening the door and climbing anymore! The lock is easy to install and operating without being a burden to use the refrigerator as we normally do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been looking for a solution to our cabinets under the sink and this definitely solved the problem! As we all know toddlers are masters at getting in to any space and mine is no exception! We store a lot of chemicals and supplies under the sink in our kitchen so definitely want to keep those out of our exploring toddlers hands. We tried traditional cabinet locks that mount inside the door and the frame but we found that these did not catch well and often the mighty force of our toddler pulling allowed him to get them open anyways. We also tried a bungee cord however this was difficult to loop and, given the frequency we go in and out of this cabinet, it was not conducive to our needs. This latch was able to be installed quickly and even adjusted once before firmly pressing in to place. It stayed in place even with my force pulling on it. The latch connection makes it very easy to click and unclip or reclip as needed to get in to whatever you are latching. I think my favorite part, since it is under the sink, is that the plastic is easy to wipe down if anything falls on it or it gets wet or generally dirt from being in an area with cooking and food. It has held up very well so far through multiple tugs, yanks, and pulls from a rambunctious exploring toddler so I have zero complaints! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a safety solution for their toddler or for any reason at all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although I was aware of this product I had never tried it or anything like it, I resorted to duct tape because thats what I had on hand, and duct tape leaves a sticky mess compared to these straps. I would definitely buy these again! It was very easy to install, just pull the piece off covering the sticky portion like a band-aid and stick it where you want it. I used it on my dryer because my door latch was broken and I though this would be perfect! It would keep my door shut and the kids out! Plus every time I did a load of laundry and was using the duct tape I had to put a new piece or multiple pieces on every time and it left all the stickiness behind. This strap however doesn't have to be replaced every time and when it comes time to take it off and or replace it, I will only have to deal with two much smaller areas that could possibly leave a sticky residue. Very happy with this product and will be buying and recommending to friends.

These are like seatbelts for the appliances! My kids can work them BUT if you put them up high enough, they can't reach them. The peel and stick adhesive is super strong and it didn't leave any residue on my appliances when peeled off. I don't think there's any way someone could break these. If you have a fridge-freezer side by side, I recommend putting the latch on the freezer and the strap on the door. I really wish I had found these sooner ☝🏼☝🏼 They'd work perfect for cabinets, toilets, dishwashers, etc...

We opted to install cabinet and drawer locks as well as used these appliance locks. These are a life saver as our son loved to open the fridge throughout the day.
