Q: How long does the blade stay sharp? Can you replace it?

A: Hi Tinakomi - Thank you for your question! No, the blade cannot be replaced. The product was designed to last approximately a year. However, the life really depends on the hardness of the pills being cut and the frequency. The user should periodically inspect the product for wear. Q: its obvious the pill cutter is a plastic case with a blade, but what is the surrounding soft material "shield" made from, is it free from latex and rubber , is it silicone?

Absolute garbage. Either partially crushes or cuts pills asymmetrically, fresh out of the package. Worst pill cutter I have ever used. It’s going in the trash. I’m a nurse and know how to use pill cutters.

This tablet cutter worked OK. It got the job done, but some of the pill was crushed in the process. Seems like the blade could be sharper. I did like the feature that the blade has a safety cover where it is always covered so you don’t have to worry about little fingers getting a hold of this.

This is not my first pill cutter, but it's definitely the worst I've ever purchased. Not once, no matter how hard I try, has it ever cut a pill in half. The best it's ever done is cutting the pill in 1/3 and 2/3. I do not recommend!

Perfect pill cutter that gets the job done. I had to take some enormous antibiotic pills and the pharmacist said I could cut them in half. This made that easier to do while keeping the mess contained.
