I bought these rollers in 2006 and I'm still using them to this day (2024). I've put many hours on these things and they're great. Surprised how long they've lasted. Sure there are other more expensive brands out there but for the price, very hard to beat these.

I have owned these for around eight years and chose them over static trainers because I thought they would be more interesting to ride. Rollers are not that difficult, if I can learn to ride them, anyone can. I started with the set up in an internal doorway placing one hand against the vertical and one on the handlebars. It took a couple of sessions before I was confident to get both hands on the bike, but it felt an achievement and soon it became second nature. I was keeping upright and all I needed was the back of a chair on one side to help start and finish my sessions. The longer the wheelbase of the bike, the easier it will be to learn to ride rollers. I began with a mountain bike and then moved on to a shorter wheelbase road bike. It’s important to make sure that tyres are up to pressure otherwise they will squeak and increase resistance. I don’t have extra resistance on the rollers, I find that the gear changes on the bike are all I need to vary the strength needed to keep going. Rollers are not really about building strength. They provide a core workout because you constantly need to adjust balance and they give you a much better technique. I noticed after the first winter of using rollers that out on the road, I sat squarer on the bike and my pedalling was more efficient. It’s like having a technique coaching session. If you get it wrong, you lose your balance, so you develop a way of staying upright and that translates into much better technique on real rides. The only thing that I would change is the rubber feet design. The feet split after time and I think that is because the square metal ends are forced into round rubber feet. Otherwise these should last a long time. Don’t be afraid, get some rollers!

This design seems like it would be both fun and a challenge. Although you probably get a better workout with the resistance type trainers, I believe enhancing one's balance and cadence will pay off in the long run.

These rollers have been used on average 3x/week for 18 years. The resistance unit is installed and is a nice upgrade. Warrantied and replaced two cylinders during that time due to bearing failure and replaced one band. Not bad. I guess its time for CycleOps to work on a Smart Roller.

While I find that most of the time, I get maximal benefit from the turbo trainer there are plenty of times that I prefer the rollers. These rollers are stable, quiet, and easy to store. The width is ideal for working on spinning and technique. I have taken to using them for race warmups, too as they keep me focused. I have replaced the rubber band and it was straightforward. This set of rollers will continue to be part of my training for a long time.

Take your riding to the next level!! Rollers are not easy - no matter how many YouTube videos you watch... It takes practice and concentration. It's all worth it though. Smoother cadence, razor edge balance, awe and admiration from your training buddies (almost..)!! I've had an air trainer and a Fluid2 trainer, and this is by far the toughest indoor workout I've ever had. It took a couple weeks of trying and sitting against a wall to stay on, then another month to feel somewhat comfortable. After a season of riding indoors I'm still challenged and working at it - but I'm still riding it!! I've noticed an impressive smoothness in my riding, no side-to-side movement, smoother pedaling, The rollers are as quiet if not quieter than my Fluid trainer. Lighter and easier to take to LBS for training rides.
Amazing Rollers!

These rollers have provided miles and miles of enjoyment and most of all, exercise. The best part of these is they don't take up much room. Allowing me to leave them set up. I can throw the bike on for a workout in an instant and ride. The rollers test your core strength to the max! Be careful the first time, but once you pick it up, and you will, it's easy and fun! I went from never riding rollers to being able to transition to no hands on rollers in about 5 rides.
Rollers Are the Best

I have always been a fan of rollers when I need to train but can't get outside because of weather or time constraints. These fold up and out of the way when not in use and the magnetic bar I added helps increase resistance. Roller will help you develop a smooth pedal stroke and no you aren't going to fall off and peel out and hit the wall ahead of you (you'll just fall over) ;). I am currently using them with the online training platform ZWIFT with my track bike. Rollers are a lot quieter than other types of trainers which makes them perfect for apartments or if you train before your partner/roommate wakes up! I highly recommend getting a set!

I picked up a set of used CycleOps rollers at a phenomenal price. After getting ideas from YouTube videos, I drilled holes into the frame and turned mine into "free motion" rollers. The "free motion" allowed me to stand up easily and enabled me to ride for longer.
Highly recommended

I would highly recommend this trainer to anyone I know who is looking for a very portable and hassle free way to be able to train wherever you are. At the track, in the velodrome before a cross race the options are truly limitless. It has been a great tool to help coordinate my balance and work on proper posture as well on the bike.

I use these rollers in my basement mostly during the winter. These are great for doing a little recovery and just spinning the legs. Keeps me more mentally engaged than the trainer. Aluminum drums roll smoothly and quietly and the frame is plenty sturdy. I love that I can fold them in half and store them vertically or flat.
Great!

Very good when used with the resistance unit. A very smooth and silent ride comparable to much more expensive hometrainer. Add to this improved balance and core stability when riding rollers.
