Does not work. Waited until ideal time to use. Aerate lawn as prep for use of this product before spreading. No results. Waste of money

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Turf Builder Southern Triple Action & Green Max Lawn Food Bundle and appreciate your feedback. Please note, when applying Scotts Turf Builder Southern Triple Action weed leaves will twist and curl within a few days after applying the product. It may several weeks for the weeds to shrivel and die completely. For severe weed problems, a second treatment may be required, no more than 8 weeks after the first application. High or low temperatures or a severe lack of rain may delay total control for up to a month. The lawn will begin to green-up within 2-5 days after being watered or rained on. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. If for any reason you, the consumer, are not satisfied with the results after using this product, you are entitled to get your money back. Limitations apply. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

I used this product in October on my st augustine grass In northeast florida. I followed the instructions on the bag correctly. Picture 1 is my lawn before using. Picture 2 is 4 weeks later. I went from having one of the nicest lawns to one of worst lawns. Total disappointment.

Too Early To Tell, But Hopeful

I put this out less than a week ago, so too early to tell much. I do think I noticed a bit of a green-up though. My St. Augustine lawn grows about 3/4" a day, so I do have to cut it weekly. Most of my weeds are already addressed, but the nutsedge is getting more prevalent and thicker. I don't expect the Triple Action product to touch the sedge though.

still waiting for product. but Scott's gives conflicting instructions. the directions say apply to dry grass (both on the bag and on the website), but in their replies to reviews they say apply to wet grass. Scott's needs to be better about their directions. I applied it to dry grass per the instructions, but now I wish I had applied it to wet grass. I don't what to trust from Scotts anymore.

Disappointed Results

Applied Scotts Turf Builder Southern Triple Action to my backyard on July 1. I watered immediately and walked the area to make sure that it was thoroughly saturated but this weed and feed still burned my lawn. My once beautiful St. Augustine lawn looks terrible. Three weeks after application and I am still seeing earwigs. The lawn is starting to look a little better but it may take a full growing season to fully recover. I am truly disappointed.

I applied the Scotts Turf Builder Southern Triple Action product to my St. Augustine Grass lawn following the spreader instructions and then watering in the product and it killed or caused brown spots in my yard in many places. I use the Southern Bonus S each spring with great results, but this is the second time I have used the Triple Action and had these results. After the first time a few years ago, I thought maybe it was a bad batch and tried again just last week. Same terrible results. The grass it did not kill does not look any healthier like it does with Bonus S. The only thing left in much of the yard are the weeds! I will not recommend this product to anyone who has St. Augustine grass.

Wet grass? Dry grass? Scotts isn’t clear when.

Why does customer care keep saying to apply to WET grass and water in after 24 hours when the instruction clearly say to apply to DRY grass and water in immediately? Very confusing.
1 reply from Customer Care team - 9 months ago
Thank you for your feedback. When we advise to make sure that the lawn is wet before applying, it's to allow the product the chance to stick to the weed leaves for weed control on already established weeds. After 24 hours, we advise to water the lawn to allow the product to come into contact with the soil to provide crabgrass prevention.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Triple Action and appreciate your feedback. This product will kill actively growing broadleaf weeds and prevent grassy weeds that are listed on the label. It will not prevent broadleaf weeds (before or after the application) and it will not kill existing crabgrass or other grassy type weeds. For broadleaf weed control temperatures must be consistently (several days in a row) between 60 and 80 degrees F. For listed grassy weeds to be prevented this has to be applied before the target grassy weeds germinate. Weeds will die within 2 to 4 week period, depending on temperature conditions. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

Purchased approximately a month ago. I applied per the bag instructions on my Empire Zoysia grass and St. Augustine (Floratam) lawns in Miami FL. This product turned the lawn very green, but the weeds in my lawn have grown out of control. Now the weeds have taken over most of my lawn that was planted only 2 years ago. This is not the only time I have used Scotts weed and feed, but since it was a different formula than the last one, I figured id give it a try. WORST DECISION EVER! Now i dont know what to do, as i doubt i will be able to recover my lawn. It did not kill almost any weeds, but rather looks like they are on steroids now

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Triple Action(I) and appreciate your feedback. Scotts Turf Builder Triple Action(I) will kill actively growing broadleaf weeds and prevent grassy weeds that are listed on the label. It will not prevent broadleaf weeds (before or after the application) and it will not kill existing crabgrass or other grassy type weeds. For broadleaf weed control temperatures must be consistently (several days in a row) between 60 and 80°F. For listed grassy weeds to be prevented this has to be applied before the target grassy weeds germinate. The lawn must be wet for the product to stick to the broadleaf weed leaves. The product must remain on the weed leaves for 24 hours. After the first 24 hours the product must be watered in, this will help with the prevention of the weeds listed as being prevented such as crabgrass. Weeds may temporarily appear healthier and greener after an application of a weed control. The active ingredients trigger uncontrolled plant growth that causes weed listed on the label to die. You should notice the weeds begin to curl and yellow a few days after application due to this excessive growth. Weeds will die within 2 to 4 week period, depending on temperature conditions. Unfortunately, I decided to try triple action again after a disappointing experience a couple years ago. It was no better even worse. I applied it exactly as directed (in the morning with dew so it sticks, and it was 36+ hours before rain) It had absolutely no effect on lawn weeds and it's been 2+ weeks. They didn't even blink. We'll see later about the feeding part and crabgrass prevention. I should've known after my previous disappointing experience. I can't believe anyone legitimately has any success with this product.

First time using Scotts® Turf Builder® Southern Triple. I used it on two different properties; each property had different challenges. Also, gave some to a friend to try on their lawn. We are all very pleasantly surprised with the results - about 1-2 weeks later. Lawns are looking plush and the good grass is choking out the weeds and continues to do so. Good stuff! Thank you Scotts!

Didn't kill clover or dandelions, didn't stop fire ants from building their mounds, didn't seem to make much difference in the grass. Can't recommend this, it didn't seem to work for us. Bought specifically for our St Augustine lawn, but won't be doing that again. Had high hopes, but was left disappointed.

I bought this exactly one month ago. Followed the instructions exactly. I bought it to help kill the weeds in my 6 month old sodded lawn. You can tell exactly where the fertilizer went as it did a great job on the grass. It also did a great job fertilizing the weeds. I seem to have a large amount of cudweed and it did absolutely nothing to control or kill that.

Applied exactly as per instructions . I think it actually fertilized the weeds rather than kill them. This is the 3rd year I've used this product with exactly the same result. Guess it's my fault for trying it this time, but it will be the last.

Absolutely waste of my $50. I applied this as listed using the spreader. Made sure the temperature was right and that there was no immediate rain in the forecast. Watered it in after the recommended days. I used it only on the side and front yard because I got tired. Thank God because crabgrass started sprouting like crazy only where I used it. No crabgrass in my backyard only other weeds. I had to mow nearly twice in the week because we had rain and it kept growing. Then I decided to pull up the crabgrass by hand to get rid of it which took me several days. Now I have a citation from the HOA due to weeds. SMH.
