HOW TO WORK WITH SCULPEY SOUFFLÉ: After you have all your clay supplies organized and ready, it's time to start crafting. To ensure the clay stays in good condition while you handle it, keep your work surface, hands and tools clean. One of the best ways to keep all your clay organized for specific projects is to use a metal baking sheet, wax paper, disposable foil or the Sculpey Oven-Safe Work Mat as your work surface. These materials act as a barrier between your clay and table, helping maintain the integrity of both and prevent staining on the table. Plus, once you've finished assembling your beautiful creations, you can easily place the moveable work surfaces onto a glass or metal tray if you're not already using one, and pop them into the oven to bake. Besides organization, there are other TIPS & TRICKS for working with Sculpey Soufflé clay. To begin any process, you'll want to knead the clay until it's soft and smooth. Once it is, you can begin manipulating it into the desired shapes and designs. If you're working with multiple colors, it's best to work with the light colors first, then move on to the darker ones. Doing so can help you avoid transferring the dark clay colors to the lighter clay when you work with it. If you're laying clay pieces on top of one another, ensure they stick after baking by firmly pressing the raw clay pieces together. For a smooth finish and to remove any fingerprints or other minor textural imperfections on your creation, you can sand and buff them or apply a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to the marks with a cotton swab.
BAKING INSTRUCTIONS: Bake at 275 °F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4 in (6 mm) thickness. Do not microwave. Do not exceed the above temperature or recommended baking time. While crafting - Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey Tools Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately. WHILE CRAFTING:

STORAGE INFORMATION: Our products contain a date code that indicates the date of production, but not “sell by date”. Oven-bake clays, when stored correctly in a cool, dry place, below 77°F and out of direct sunlight, have an expected shelf life of a few years. Shelf life can be impacted by environmental conditions, including heat and humidity, during shipping and storage. We store the clay at Polyform in a cool and dry environment. Improper storage may affect the quality of the clay. One aspect of oven-bake clays is that they react to very warm temperatures. Proper polymer clay storage is essential to freshness. The clay should be stored in a clay compatible container in a very cool, dry place, unexposed to the direct rays of the sun. We recommend containers or bags made out of polypropylene (PP) plastic. Hint: Look for the recycling symbol #5 on the bottom of the container. DO NOT store in a hot environment above 77°F. DO NOT store in direct sunlight. DO NOT store inside a car. Make your craft supplies shopping your last stop. Store the clay in a cool, dark and dry place. Polymer clay can be stored at low temperatures with no ill effects to the properties of the clay. Tip: Refrigeration or freezing can extend the shelf life considerably. In the summer months, the clay may become partially cured if your climate is very hot and your house is not air-conditioned. Improper storage may affect the quality of the clay. One aspect of oven-bake clays is that they react to very warm temperatures.

Sculpey Soufflé is hands down the best clay I have worked with. As a clay artist for 3 years I have tried it all. It is never sticky, never dry & I am NEVER disappointed after baking. Color mixing always ends magically & your cutters will hardly ever stick to your clay.
Easy & light.

Souffle clay is easy to manipulate but hardens just as hard as the clays that are more dense. I was surprised to see how well a cane held up. Love the color palette , it all works so well together
Excellent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this clay and have been using it for a long time. However, there seems to be a company issue with keeping most colors in stock to match the demand. Many colors have been out of stock for at least a month.
