Description
Add storage, style and comfort to your bedroom with the Prepac Select 4-Post Platform Bed. The elegant design features solid wood posts with a sleek finished bed frame. Custom hardware keeps the bed aligned and requires only your mattress. The wood slat system, which comes in two sections, prevents motion transfer to provide individual comfort. The platform is raised 8.5 inches in height which allows for optional under bed storage. Two large drawers add storage functionality to the Select Platform Bed. Drawers can be added to either side of the bed. Each large roll out drawer (38"W x 5.5"H x 23"D) offers plenty of storage space for your blankets, linens, clothes or pillows. Five caster wheels allow you to roll these extra-large drawers to reach your belongings with ease.

A: There is flexibility. You can put the 2 drawers on one side if your bed is against a wall, or you can have one on each side. There is also an option with 4 drawer. Search for "Select 4 - Post Platform Bed with 2 Drawers - Prepac"

A: This bed is designed for an Eastern King mattress (76"W x 80"L). A California King is 72"W x 84"L, so it will be too long for the bed frame

Q: The description says made of wood. Just what parts are made of wood? Any particle board, laminate, plywood, or other materials that are not really wood?

A: Thank you for inquiring. The bed is predominantly made of particlebaord and medium density fibreboard (MDF) except for the leg posts and mattress slats which are solid wood.

If I can give it zero stars I would. broke within less of one year owning it. Anytime you are rolling around in your sleep or moving your bed will fall through the frame because of the flimsy wood panels that hold your mattress up and the wood of the bedframe is made from the cheapest material possible avoid this product like the plague. and trying to get ahold of this company will be the hardest thing you will do and they only offer partial product replacements they will not replace the whole thing even though the whole thing is garbage or even give a refund. Even though I bought it on sale the price was still not worth it.

Despite what the Q&A section says, the Prepac headboard DOES NOT ATTACH to this bed! I emailed customer service and they kept telling me these are sold as stand alone pieces and hardware is not provided. We built the bed and headboard and the headboard does not line up with the bed, there are no predrilled holes, etc. We now have to mount the headboard to the wall in order to salvage this.

The frame would break even when you just sat down on it. It broke 3 times over 6 months. We fixed it the first two times with additional hardware but it kept breaking. Very cheap materials.

Do not buy this bed. The slats pop out constantly - it's becoming truly unbearable and I've only had this bed for 3 months. My husband and I are not large people, the slats literally just pop out when one of us climbs out of bed. In addition, the side of the bedframe has started to join in on the fun and pop off too. I am so disappointed, I'm going to have to buy a new frame very shortly.

Overall I’m very happy with my purchase and it’s exactly what I needed at the price point.
Things to note:
-I was able to assemble it alone, but it would’ve gone a lot faster with two people. Total material weight is around 150 lbs so take that into consideration. Instructions were pretty straight forward.
-Happy with the Quality. Bed feels sturdy, didn’t have any “cracking wood”problems.
-Drawers have wheels mounted on the bottom rather than slide racks. Works smoothly with hardwood floor but I could see there being some issues if you had thick carpet.
-Only comes with two drawers. For me, I just use the other side to store things underneath.
-the diagona supports of my bed popped off. But I just left them off. I think the tolerance stack up made the positioning of those mounting holes slightly off so it was causing extra tension on the frame. It’s okay, those don’t really do anything for the load, they’re more so for torsion. They’re only a few mm thick and have 1cm screws.

The Instructions were extremely basic, and the drawers are not attached to the bed in any way. They also roll on the ground, so if you have a thick carpet they might have a hard time getting them to move.

I ordered this bed Sept 2018, and it's already broken. The metal part holding the slats in place has come off in one corner, and the side of the bed is cracked all the way through (pic included). The drawer is the only thing holding it up right now. The slats are several horizontal boards connected with elastic strips that you stretch and hook on a wooden dowel. They pop off constantly. The drawers are not attached, and slide up and down the side of the bed. You only receive two, and if you want two more it'll cost you an extra $300. The instructions were worse than ones from Ikea. One positive thing about this bed is that my cats adore sleeping in the drawers.
