Sensodyne Sensitivity & Gum Whitening Toothpaste - 3.4oz

I've used it a few times and at first the sensation on my gums was different than anything I've used. After about a week, my mouth is irritated and I was looking at reviews & I'll switch out now.

I have used many sensodyne before and this one for some reason caused irritation as soon as i put it in my mouth. I just went through the reviews and it looks like i'm not alone, sorted by "most recent" and all the reviews in the past year were one star. Are we having a bad batch? I am going to stop using it immediately and consult my dentist.

I’ve used other Sensodyne toothpaste in the past without any issues and decided to try this one a couple of weeks ago because I have some issues with receding gums. About a week and a half ago, I thought I brushed too hard or accidentally turned up my water flosser too high because my gums started to become really irritated. Then I started to have canker like sores on my lips. Then sores on my tongue and under my tongue. I was in so much pain and absolutely miserable. I couldn’t eat and only wanted to drink ice cold water. I couldn’t sleep at night because of the pain from the sores in my mouth. I’m exhausted but can’t drink coffee because the acidity makes the sores burn. Flossing and brushing my teeth was pure agony. I have tried everything I could find online to offer relief (salt water rinses, special mouthwash, avoiding acidic foods, over the counter products for canker sores, lip repair treatments, etc) and to try to make the mouth sores go away, but they kept popping up more and more. One recommendation online said to avoid toothpaste with SLS. I was pretty sure that wasn’t in Sensodyne, but I googled Sensodyne and SLS. After reading the reviews on this toothpaste, it made me realize that it is likely the cause of my misery for the last 2 weeks. I absolutely do not recommend this product and strongly believe it should no longer be sold.

Like a number of other people who've posted here, I had a reaction to the toothpaste even though I've used other sensodyne products for years. It made my gums swollen and painful. A bit ironic given it's supposed make gums less painful.

Beware- this one has sodium laurel sulfate sls, and potassium nitrite. The potassium nitrate is used to numb sensitivity BUT for too many people it causes ache teeth and plus ringing in the ears, I’m glad I figured it out

This has sodium laurel sulfate which causes canker sore. It is a nice toothpaste, but I am prone to canker sores when using that ingredient so it is not worth it to me.

I have been using this toothpaste for years. Works great for reducing my sensitivity, especially for eating cold items. I have not noticed my teeth whitening, but this doesn't bother me. The protection against sensitivity is well worth it.

This Sensitivity and Gum variant of Sensodyne is the worst tasting toothpaste I've ever had. It has an awful bitter aftertaste. I could never bring myself to using it more than 1 day consecutively, so I never got to the level of experiencing canker sores that other reviewers mentioned. I do enjoy the Sensodyne Extra Whitening variant and don't have side effects like other whitening toothpastes (allergic cough). Sensitivity and Gum totally misses the mark unfortunately.

Exactly what I needed for my gums

Been using sensodyne for years and it’s been great. However with this toothpaste, within a couple of days using, my mouth is having an allergic reaction? According to my dentist (thanks for the extra unnecessary appointment, Sensodyne!), this has SLS which should not be used for sensitive teeth. Tl;dr Instead of helping with sensitive teeth and gum problems, this toothpaste has now given me sensitive teeth and gum problems after a week of use.

This is my go-to toothpaste! It helps with my sensitive teeth. I have also noticed that my gums are healthier too!

I have used sensodyne for years, recently tried the sensitivity & gum clean and fresh. My gums burned and swelled. I had to stop immediately. Do not recommend!

I was not given the correct item.

I had tried a few different toothpastes for my sensitive teeth including sensodyne! My dentist recommended this specific one and it was literally life changing! After about one week I could eat food of varying temperatures again without wincing! I am beyond thrilled.

I've always used Sensodyne products without issue, but this toothpaste has left me with irritation and mouth ulcers after one use. My tongue is swollen and skin is peeling from inside my mouth. Swallowing is difficult. It's so painful! I'm not sure how this product remains on sale.

Causes canker sores and tears up gums after just one or two uses. Do not buy this product!

This unfortunately caused a lot of canker sores about 2 days after I started using this. I’ve never had any issues with Sensodyne before, but this one will be tossed out.

My dentist recommended this toothpaste for my gum sensitivity. I’ve been using this paste for approximately a month and I have been experiencing terrible side effects. The inside of my lips are red and swollen, my tongue is red and so irritated that I can’t taste anything. I’ve also developed canker sores for the first time in my life (I’m 63). This is the worst product! It should come with a warning label of possible side effects.

This toothpaste make my gum irritated so bad. First few days, my gum was very sensitive but I dont think anything about this toothpaste. A few days after, it got worse, my gum swollen and have a lot small sore around gums and under tongue. I went to urgent care and found out this happened because of the toothpaste. My mom and my brother also feel their gums more sensitive after using this few days. Very disappointed about this product
