Seresto Large Dog collars make your dog’s comfort a priority by killing fleas and ticks on contact, so pests don’t have to bite your dog to die. Existing fleas die within 24 hours after initial application of the collar. After 24 hours, any new fleas on the dog are killed within 2 hours with protection against further flea infestation lasting 8 months. The prevention of infestations with new ticks starts at 48 hours after application of the collar. 48 hours after application, any new ticks are repelled and/or killed in as quickly as 6 hours. My dog didn’t mind it while he had it on, so it was easy to have on and not worry about catching fleas and ticks. I didn’t notice anything on him, but it’s also a little cooler now so we’ll see the true effectiveness when summer hits.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had planned to use this product on a hike with my dog but before we left to head out, I read through the instructions and saw that the collar would only be effective at killing or repelling ticks 48 hours after being applied. This is not necessarily a fault of the product but I would like to see that on the outside of the packaging rather than only in the instructions. Without mention of the timeframe I had assumed it would work like a mosquito wrist band and help repel immediately. Otherwise I think 8 months of protection, the universal fit (for large dogs), and range of advertised protection are all great product attributes.

My dog was infested with fleas and I’ve noticed that this collar has helped with getting rid of some of them, but they’re not all dead. The size fit around my dog perfectly. The material doesn’t seem to affect my dog. It’s like wearing another collar.
