A: Thanks for asking about our Lavender Ultra Concentrated Laundry Detergent. Seventh Generation has formulated all of our laundry detergents to work in High Efficiency (HE) washing machines. These products are formulated to work in both standard and HE machines using the same dosage directions. Our HE formulated laundry detergents can be used in all home washing machines and laundromats. When you see a blue oval symbol with "HE" in the lower right front of the package you will know that it can be used in your HE machine. If the HE symbol is not on the package, it should not be used in HE machines. Seventh Generation does not recommend that you use or adapt any current products you have in your home. We suggest that you not purchase any laundry detergent to use in your HE machines unless it has the HE symbol on the front of the package. We hope this helps!

A: All of our Laundry Detergents use enzymes. These can be too strong for some delicate materials. We suggest checking the garment for recommendations for use with or without enzymes. You can use our Dish Liquid for handwashing delicates, this does not have any enzymes in it.

I wouldn't recemmend specifically because there is no way to measure and the "easy dose" feature doesn't work. This bottle comes with "easy dose" which means we don't have to measure the soap since the bottle automatically does it for us, but it doesn't work. I tried it and the detergent just kept emptying out to the point where a quarter of the bottle was gone. Since this feature doesn't actually work, there must be a measuring cup included.

I've been a long-time 7th Gen customer, and decided to try this product because of the smaller packaging. However, the bottle design is horrible. There's no way to "squeeze" out any amount because when I tilt the bottle, it just pours out. I have no way of knowing how much I'm using, AND it makes a huge mess--just like the larger bottles. So disappointing.

I’m so very disappointed in this product. I’ve been using it for about a year and I will be finding a new detergent. It does not clean my clothes at all. I just took a load out and still smell my perfume on my clothes. I thought I was not using enough detergent so I did two squirts instead of one… this made no difference what so ever. I’m sad because I was looking for something allergy and eco friendly. Please don’t waste your money on this product.

Love this detergent. It has a nice lite smell but nothing too heavy. It also cleans very well. Even my husband who works in construction says it works well on his really dirty clothes.

The easy dose cap does not work as advertised. The bottle says “squeeze drinks into dispenser or washer until liquid stop”. However the liquid does not stop if I keep squeezing. Whatever mechanism that’s meant to stop the liquid does not work. Liquid also comes out as soon as I turn it upside down even if I don’t squeeze. This makes it hard to put in a consistent amount of detergent. I plan to return it.

I had high hopes for a concentrated detergent, but it didn't deliver. I used the recommended amount, but my clothes aren't clean. I needed to remove the musty smell from a week in a musty hotel, but my clothes came out smelling exactly like they did before I washed them. Beyond frustrating since I have to use laundromats.

The Dispenser Does Not Operate as Described

Unfortunately, the promised "easy dose" feature was a complete failure. When I opened the cap, laundry liquid began pouring out of the opening long before the bottle reached the completely upside-down position featured in Seventh Generation's video. I even tried to "prime" the bottle once or twice, but the laundry liquid just kept pouring out. With no way to easily dispense and measure the product, and no idea how much I ought to be using when the "one firm squeeze" instruction fails, I'm returning this for a refund.

The small size and light weight of this detergent is a big drawing point for many reasons. It's a bonus that it smells good and is very effective. I've purchased the lavender scent twice and I would be open to trying other scents in this line.

Not as strong as the ultra, it doesn't leave a smell on the clothes at all. They come out clean but it's not concentrated enough so you use too much.

Get the dosing correct definitely takes some finesse. If you invert the bottle without squeezing, detergent just dribbles out. You need to invert it and give ot a good squeeze right away. Now for the scent. I love the scent of French Lavender. It's more herbal than floral, and very soothing. This is definitely not French Lavender. It's somewhat herbal, with a slight hint of patchouli. Having said that, I don't mind it at all. It's not overwhelming, and my clothes smell clean. I much prefer this over a floral scent. I'm still deciding of I'm going to purchase it again.
