I have suffered with psoriasis all my life and Shea butter is the best thing it's ever happened to me by relieving the itchiness. While applying it to my areas I have psoriasis it's gone it doesn't have the best smell in the world but it has helped me a lot. I will buy this product again whenever I run out but it does help psoriasis. I do not like steroid creams they never work for me.

This is 100% raw shea. You have to know how to use it and when to use it. There are some negative reviews regarding how it’s hard to use— if you aren’t familiar with RAW shea butter and you’re expecting it to go on like other processed and refined lotions, then yes, you may be disappointed. If you use this product properly, however, you’ll probably find it to be one of the most moisturizing and best products in your cabinet. This is my rescue product. It takes a TINY amount. Put it on your hand and LET IT SIT!! Let your body heat do the work. Let it warm for like 50 seconds, you can help it by rubbing it around GENTLY (don’t get impatient) and voila, it’s ready to use! It’s the most moisturizing product I’ve ever used. I think it works best for super dry skin, or itchy skin/eczema. I used a tiny bit on a new tattoo and it made my tattoo heal incredibly quickly. I was honestly amazed. And the smell is natural and pleasant.

Stumbled upon this product, and I have to say I really like it. It's helping my nails hydrate and recover from years gel nails and is doing wonders on my elbows and feet. Everything is so soft. Yes it's grundy, yes you have to warm it up.

This product is the best product on my face and chest area. i take a little out and apply onto dampened skin and spritz with La Roche Posay thermal water. No breakouts and it melts right into my skin. Love it.

My first one took a lot of trial and error to figure out how to use it. Too gritty and would not melt in your hands no matter how much you rubbed. Figured out had to melt and then use. Loved how it made my skin feel. Bought 2nd bottle and it was so smoky and rancid. Very disappointing. Been very disappointed in a lot of Shea Moisture products lately.

When I bought this product, it was grainy. I just melted it in a double boiler over low heat until it was fully melted and translucent. Then I cleaned the container, and poured the clarified liquid back in, then set it in an ice bath and into the refrigerator to chill. Looks smooth and silky now. I like that it's pure and basically scent free. Wondering if this product always needs this much preparation to use... completely unusable in its grainy form. Maybe Shea Moisture needs to QA this a little better.

Product cakes up, is ineffective for my needs. Not sure if this is a quality assurance issue, however I could not use it as it is lumpy, and crumbly, not a smooth creamy application.

Shea Moisture has the best raw shea butter out there, hands down. The texture is incredible and versatile. It melts quickly in your hands for easy application anywhere you need to use it! Face, hands, body, or hair. Easy to mix with other oils if that’s something you like to do. I cannot be without this specific shea butter, I truly can’t!

I'm not a big fan of some of their products but love the Shea Butter. You have to rub your hands together and warm it up. It immediately stops my skin from itching and it feels great. Sometimes I put a couple of drops of vitamin E oul with it. It's awesome on the lips too!

So I was shocked when I first bought this shea butter. I had heard that shea butter could come in 2 different colors of yellow (which is what I typically find ans buy) or in white (which is more rare to come by). This shea butter came in it's true raw form. Making the texture very grainy and rough and in tiny pieces. I'm used to buying processed or refined shea butter no matter the color. I found this shea butter in it's rawest form to be a bit more difficult to use. So what I did on a nice hot summer day, was sit the entire container outside in the sun for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the shea butter to melt. Then I brung the entire container back inside to let it cool off. The results was great with the shea butter being smooth and refined in texture like what I'm used to. Therefore it was easy to use from that point on. I like using shea butter on my skin and hair as it is rich in nutrients, very moisturizing, protective, healing and healthy for both skin and hair when exposed to sun, heat and cold weather. I use it regularly and it lasts a long time. Is never greasy on my hair or skin when using it. Has a light nutty scent. Literally a must have in my skincare and haircare routines.

The very first impression is the grittiness and the smell. I really did not want my body to smell like that. Hope this product can be improved. I would definitely look forward to it. Meanwhile, back to trying other products.

I do not mind that it was grainy, clumpy, or gritty - but the smell was described as rancid and made my son gag. I felt it had a garlic-like smell which wasn't how I wanted to walk around smelling like a giant bulb of garlic.

I have extremely fair, dry and sensitive skin. I’ve spent a lot of money on products that give me a rash on my face. I found this. It is fragrance free and all natural. It’s the most amazing face cream I’ve ever used. I don’t get anymore red rashes on my face. Thank you all so much. My face feels nice and looks so healthy with a tiny pink glow to it.
