It's not very sticky like the ones I've used which I like but gives the edge control you want. It smells good which is a plus, arrived in good condition. Thanks for allowing me to try this bomb Jamaican black castor oil edge gel!

It held pretty well on my edges which I can say I put a relaxer in 3 weeks prior to using it and thought maybe that was why. Everywhere else is fully natural though. The relaxer wore out and it still held pretty well when I used it for my puff. This is a go to especially considering I’m not big on products in my hair.

It looks nice and smells real good. It doesn't flake up or dry out your edges. I use to lay my edges down it has nice hold not too hard. I used this on my grand daughters hat it holds their braids in place and don't frizz

It smells good and the texture is similar to other edge controls, but not as thick (hence the lack of long term hold). Lots of product in this small jar.

No just as an edge control it doesn’t hold as much as I would like but I like how smooth it gets my edges. The flaxseed and Jamaican black castor oil will help those edges stay full!

The hold on the other hand was not as I hoped. The hold isn't very strong but lasts for at least one style.

This is about 5 hours after I applied it and it’s pretty much gone. It doesn’t have the best hold. I love how much product comes in the container but it gets flaky as well. I’m able to kind of use it the next day without reapplying if I spray my hair with leave in. It kind of reactivates it. I wouldn’t buy it, but I will use the rest of it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a really good experience using this edge control overall, I was not expecting this edge control to move mountains or anything of that sort especially because I am a sweaty person but I was really happy with the overall outcome. The consistency has a nice thick gel type of texture almost like a pomade and it smells really good. Now please do not judge me for I am not in the profession of creating beautiful sculpted edges but I do try lol so this was the best that I could do. I did before and after pictures from the aftermath of 95 degree and up Texas weather which is NO JOKE so I’m not even mad at it.

Although this product is great for maintaining the edges, I wouldn’t call it a gel. It doesn’t last all day and doesn’t have a gel texture. More like a balm. It does have a nice subtle smell. I would say this is perfect for fine to medium hair. Not sure it would hold a thicker coarse hair texture.

It does not flake, does not look overly greasy, and smells so good. The fragrance is subtle and I love it. The texture is thick but easy to work with. It's a 10!

It provides great edgecontrol and tame your edges. It works on both permed and natural hair giving a very sleek look. It smells amazing. It leave you with a firm hold that does not dry out your hair. Your hair is still highly moisturized. The packaging is very easy to take around with you and has a cover that seals properly. I would recommend that you try this out as it is a very nice addition to the Shea Moisture line of products.

It also didn’t make my edges too oily like some of the other ones that I’ve used. It’s a fairly decent product except that it didn’t last as long as I’d like. Also these smelled like hair pomade which was unusual for Shea moistures signature delicious fragrances.
