SheaMoisture Hyaluronic Acid Serum with 100% Virgin Coconut Oil, 1 oz

I’ve been using this over the last 3 years and I love it. My skin is super sensitive and this serum doesn’t make me breakout and it smells lovely. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that work the best! Definitely recommend! Super affordable too

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's super thick and doesn't absorb into the skin no matter how long you keep trying, it just makes a film on top of the skin that's slimy as soon as you sweat or whatever. When it dries you feel it flaking on the skin. It's terrible

I tried the SheaMoisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Hyaluronic Acid Serum. I wanted to love this and it has great potential but here are my suggestions for improvement. The container is not right for this product. The dropper would not pick up the product effectively. An airless pump bottle or even a simple pump bottle would be way better. I would basically have to slather the serum onto the palm of my hand before application. The scent was not my favorite. There is a coconut scent plus something else that I'm not a huge fan of. But here is the thing, besides the container and the scent, the product worked well to hydrate the dry patches on my skin. It left my skin supple and moisturized without feeling heavy. Using it under a moisturizer made my skin more hydrated than with just the cream alone. It's a bit of a mixed review but I don't think I would buy this for myself.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, did I waffle about my review for this product? I try and use each product a good three weeks before submitting my review on any platform. For this product, I really wanted more time to keep trying it out. The ingredients are amazing and are usually things that I like. But somehow all together in this product, something didn’t quite click. I think this product does a good job of keeping the skin hydrated and protecting from dry patches. But I just did not like the smell or the texture. It doesn’t smell outright like coconut or anything like that, but it’s a strange somewhat mildly chemical coconut fragrance that I really did not enjoy. I think it does it’s job well, but I will not re-purchase due to the smell.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love hyaluronic acid and was surprised to see it paired with coconut oil. I would rethink the delivery method as the product is quite thick for a serum. A pump would probably be easier. My skin felt hydrated after use.

Most of the time they overhydrate me and I end up with clogged pores which leads to a breakout. This one is my happy place. It hydrates me enough without making me extra oily. And my skin feels as soft as a baby’s butt!

However, it does not do good under makeup. It will make face peeling paired with makeup. The dropper did not work the best either. But loved the actual product.

Although it has a luxurious and silky feel on my skin, which I love...the coconut oil must be clogging my pores and irritating my acne.

Smell is weird too, doesn’t smell like 100% coconut oil. General impression, it’s alright, I didn’t see any bad or good effect and don’t plan on continuing using it.

I was a little curious to see if I would have any sensitivity to this since it had new ingredients, but I had no reactions. I gave it a 3, because I just wasn’t impressed with it overall. The top cracked in shipping, but I was still able to use it. The product didn’t make me see any difference in my skin. Also, since it uses a tear dropper, it was really hard to get the last part of the bottle to come out. So in All honesty, I liked it fine, but it is not a product I would seek out to buy again.

It’s mainly coconut oil and very dense so it does leave a silky shine on my face for a while. Ive been using it daily for a month and I’ve seen no change in fine lines, pores, and my skins moisture balance has not improved past the initial application. My skin felt very dry shortly after application. Applying an astringent and face oil to my routine has worked out better in terms of oil balance and minimizing pores.
