I switched to this shampoo because a friend recommended it. However within the first month of using it, I started to notice a lot of hair loss. At first, I thought it was my diet, so I changed that and ate healthier. However, I was still losing an extreme amount of hair. I mean every single strand of hair I would comb would fall out. Not only that, it made my scalp extremely itchy and I noticed a lot of build up in my hair. After 4 months of using it, my hair was extremely dry and my curls (I usually have 3A curls) were starting to straighten out. I even went to my hairdresser for a cut and advice and she told me that the shampoo was damaging my hair to a point that there was so much wax on my scalp; every thing she did had a bunch of hair come out in the process. So for a while, I decide to not use the shampoo and conditioner and see if that made a difference. It did; my hair was curly again and it was softer more hydrated. I really want to love this product especially since it helped a friend who experienced damage and hair loss from COVID. But I suppose that wasn’t the case for me.

The pink label has been my holy grail since starting my natural hair/product journey well over a decade ago. After using up a bunch I had stocked up, I restocked and it is not the same. Instead of the smooth shiny, moistured clumped curls I use to get, it lefty my hair feeling rough and dry. It's unfortunate that they draw us in with products that work for kinky/curly hair, then snatch it away. The least they could do is label it "new formula" so we don't mess up our hair up. SMH, good luck with your new demographic

Bought this, along with other products in the coconut range, because my hair has always been wavy but really dry and thin. I was skeptical about the conditioner at first because it’s aimed at thick, dense hair, which mine absolutely isn’t, and when I used it with the other products (curling cream and shampoo) it made my hair lank and greasy. But then I started using the conditioner on its own with regular cheap shampoo, and my hair has literally never been better. It feels so soft and smooth and pretty, and I’m so happy with this product. There’s loads in a bottle and I only use three or four small pumps per wash, so it lasts ages. Honestly I’m amazed that all it took was a really moisturising conditioner to sort my hair out, especially after the endless expensive products I was advised to buy. Magical product and can’t recommend enough if you’re looking for something thoroughly moisturising! If you have thicker hair, the other products will probably work as well, but for my thin hair they weren’t quite as thorough as the cheap sulfate-containing products :)

I used to love this product I started using it over 10 years ago on my 2c/3a hair. Then Cetyl Alcohol was 10th on the ingredient list and the only alcohol. it's now second and there are two other alcohols. and man can I tell the difference, this now leaves my hair dry and parched. I'm so sad that Shea Moisture made this change over the years. This shampoo is very watery and I find that I have to use quite a handful in order to get a good amount of lather. i purchased another bottle today and just the look alone was totally different, more of a pearly look to it, it is also much much thicker. Not sure what is going on with the first bottle being very watery and this second bottle so much different!!

I got this conditioner along with its corresponding shampoo after trying it at a friend's house, because I loved the smell so much and how it softened & moisturized my hair. After a few washes however I had a severe allergic reaction that persisted for 5 days, because of the conditioner residue in my hair and pillow which caused my contact dermatitis to spread on my hands, face, shoulders and anything else my hands touched. Unfortunately, since the label doesn't disclose what ingredients are in the fragrances, I had no way of knowing it would set me off and still don't know to this day which chemical did it. Super disappointed with lack of transparency and unfortunately I can't trust any SheaMoisture product again because of the severity of the reaction. If you have sensitive skin, I would highly recommend doing a skin test if you buy it at all.

I got hives from this shampoo when I used it. I used the conditioner so I though it would be fine but a few minutes later I got so itchy then hives started to appear on my face,neck, ears and stomach.

I have used this for several years after using cantu and I like this conditioner much more. The scent and moisture this provides is top notch. Only complaint is it didn’t work for styling my hair as well as I would have liked it too.

The shampoo is very gentle an cleanses my hair without stripping it too much. When rinsing it out, it felt deeply conditioned already and became excited to try the other products (conditioner and curl cream). My only bémoll is the fragrance: while the scent of coconut is not something I don‘t like, the intensity is quite strong so people with a fragrance allergy should maybe stay away from this.

I have this a chance because I really wanted to like it but the more I used it the more hair loss I had. This was not a couple of strands either but more like half of a hand full. Now I have noticeably thinner hair and hair loss in certain points. Very disapointed. I’m thinking it could be the rosemary in it but was told it could be a few ingredients in it. Didn’t work for me but it might work for you

This is a great shampoo. I like how it does a good job in moisturizing my hair. It's really good and it adds shine and manageability. I recommend it for fine hair and even wavy hair.

This is a big life changer. I take care of two girls with curly hair and the mother didn’t know what products get for them until she find this one. It helps with the frizz of their hair and define all their golden curls. Amazing product

I was quite disappointed when I looked at the ingredients and saw Sodium Laureth Sulfate. That’s an unnecessary chemical used to make it more bubbly but has the side effect of thinning hair. Unless you’re wanting thinner hair I would avoid all shampoo with Sodium Laureth Sulfate.

I am using this shampoo and conditioner for the last couple of years now. I was very happy with it but the last couple of batches are very different. First off they are very diluted compared to the older ones and also the quality is somehow off. I guess after finishing this, I will have to try something else! Too bad.
