Q: is the consistency more like a gel type or a lotion type? i have seen a lot of creams turn out to be more of a gel and was wondering if this was one of those?

Q: I really want my hair to become curly but I don’t like the way my hair looks with the results of a curling iron. I’m Asian and my hair is 2a/b and I was wondering if this could give me natural curls?

A: If you put this product in your hair when it is wet, with some type of curl product and let air dry, you should get curls. If you want more curl, put your hair in a ponytail on top of your head after putting in products and let dry overnight.
submitted byGroot - 7 years agoA: This will give you similar results as using a thick conditioner as a styling product - it won't give you curls you don't already have. In my experience, it is "enhancing" in that it doesn't weigh your curls down like a gel might, but lets them develop into their natural state while providing moisture and a light hold. If you haven't already, check out some YouTube videos specifically for your hair type to get ideas on different styling methods that would help you achieve the look you want.

I have curly hair and have tried a number of products to define and hold my curls all day. They usually make my curls crunchy and look stiff. This is one of my favorite products because it holds my curls all day while making them look shiny and moisturized all day. I’m giving four stars only because of the smell, I’m not a fan of how it starts smelling after a while, like a bad fruit

Had decently good curl holding properties, however for my specific hair, it was far too heavy and my hair isn't thick enough. It smells great and the packaging is excellent but I do not recommend for anyone that has less than 3C hair type.

I love that the product doesn’t weigh down my hair at the roots. It also gives it a moisturizing feel without hardening the hair. My husband also has curly hair - and this is his go to product! The product consistency isn’t too thick, and the smell is subtle isn’t as strong as other products.

This company used to make excellent hair cosmetics, with well-chosen, good quality ingredients, but that's all in the past. This curl cream has a totally changed composition and doesn't resemble what it used to be. It's the same with other SheaMoisture cosmetics. The ingredients in all cosmetics are much worse - contains cheap, less healthy, just crappy ingredients and it's no longer worth buying products from this brand. This company was bought out and turned into another disgusting piece of crap that's aplenty on store shelves. I'm frustrated because my favorite cosmetics have ceased to exist, although someone is selling us crap in the same packaging without information on the front that you're no longer buying the same thing.

Thank goodness I finally found a product that works for my hair! This stuff is perfect. I have thick medium curl/waivy hair. Every other product I have tried seems to dry it out and cannot reduce the frizz. I put a good amount of this product all through my hair after washing and let it air dry. It makes my hair look so much more smooth and healthy. It doesn't leave a crunchy finish when dried either. Like I said, perfect! I had to write this review to share my happiness in finally finding something that works for me!

I finally found the best product to condition my thick coarse wavy curls! I've tried everything & prior products would either dry out & damage my hair or leave it feeling like it was crinkly & stiff. I've been using this for a few months & I love it! The trick is to apply sufficient amount to hair but not too much & to do so while hair is still wet (after shower & taken towel to squeeze out excess water). You can add more to hair to refresh your curls but only by rubbing product on the palm of your hands & then scrunching hair.

Shea moisture is such a classic when it comes to curly hair. But even though this product is not a trend it never fails to add moisture and a beautiful defined curl to my healthy natural hair. I’m a huge texture person and I actually love the creamy feeling of it on my hair it feels nice and it smells even better then it feels. It’s so soft and it smells floral. The packaging is amazing as I am someone who hates annoying pumps. This is great since I need alot of product when battling my thick hair.
