Shoal Creek Computer Desk Brown - Sauder: Home Office Furniture with Storage Drawer, Oiled Oak

We purchased and assembled this computer table a few weeks ago and we're very pleased. We were looking for a computer table that would hold my laptop PC hooked up to an external monitor. The Shoal Creek computer desk (410416) fit the bill; it's attractive and blends in well with our other wooden furniture. And it fits the small room we use as an office. We didn't want anything big or with lots of drawers and shelves. Assembly takes some maybe an hour-and-a-half?, and the instructions are clear. Every piece is labelled and the hardware is well-organized in a blister-bag, with each set of hardware in their own section. The hardware is unique (cams and pins, more than just screws) and results in a very sturdy and solid product. And every piece fit!!! One minor problem we had was 1 mismatched screw, but Sauder mailed us a replacement in a couple days. And being impatient, I was found a replacement in the meantime at our local building-supply store. Overall, great service from Sauder. We appreciate the simple lines of this computer table. It has 1 drawer and a keyboard tray that I can fit my notebook PC in, along with my separate keyboard. And we got an excellent price on the Sauder website - great value for a solid, attractive and sturdy computer table.

This is the worst piece of furniture.I have ever purchased from solder and have in the past purchased over six other pieces. The leg broke off almost immediately. It's made a very cheap particle board.

This is a nice, simple computer desk. The right-side drawer and the keyboard/mouse drawer on the left are both attached to a board in the center that is only suspended by two expanding bolts into the underside of the desktop. I had the center board fall out on the first day of use, bringing the two drawers to the floor with it. I had to buy some L-brackets to attach this center board to both the underside of the desktop and to the rear board, and the desk is great now.

We needed a computer desk that would nicely fit in a small room and look great. This one was perfect. After a time we had to disassemble the desk for a move and we ended up loosing a few of the wooden pieces. Sauder sent us complementary replacement pieces at no cost to us. Their customer service is outstanding.

The Sauder help desk was very nice and helpful and sent me a new set of moldings. They did not work any better. Now I have a visible set of holes on the desk which I'll live. I am strong and had a rubber mallet and have put together 4 Sauder products btw. Otherwise the desk would get 5 stars. Had it to do over again, I would have just skipped putting on the molding, which is only decorative.

Perfect for smaller rooms - plenty of desktop space to set up two monitors with room left over for a lamp and writing space. Keyboard tray gives extra writing space as needed and the drawer is large enough to hold not only pens, pencils, etc., but also a legal pad or two. Assembly was made easy with detailed instructions.

I needed a small computer desk that would fit my space and this worked. When I received it, I found the drawer rails missing. I contacted customer service and they took care of the problem within minutes

I am disabled and in a wheelchair. I managed to put this desk together by myself with almost no difficulty. I had a little problem with the attaching the center board that supports the desk drawers to the top. After I solved the problem it all went together perfectly. It fits in the space I had chosen nicely. I have been putting Sauder products together all my life. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Like the other one star review, the desk drawers keep falling off. Went to move and the top came off. So frustrating.

Bought this desk to replace the one I've had since college, and it was a great purchase! Spacious. . . has plenty of room for laptop, additional monitor, and writing space. The drawer for keyboard and mouse has plenty of room! Plenty of space on the side for a gooseneck lamp or a desk top lamp!

I use this desk on a daily basis. It is both functional and a nice looking piece of furniture.

I was nervous about ordering it because of the color name ""soft white"", because I wanted a bright white, but I was pleased to see that it is a bright white color without the blueish cast. I am a 70 year old woman and it took me about 4 hours to assemble. Nothing was damaged and the only things missing were 2 screws, which came quickly after I ordered them off the website. . The instructions were great, since I took my time to read them very carefully. Much sturdier than I thought it would be. Great buy!

I use this desk for my all-in-one computer/keyboard, a small lamp, ear buds, phone, and writing pad. There is plenty of room for much more. I use the drawer to keep pens/pencils, daily medications, external hard drive, cables, and various other items. One of the nice things is the leg clearance up and down/left to right. It is not difficult to put together, I just took my time and followed the instructions. My desk faces the open room, therefore I had to stain the back because it is not finished. I must plug in my external devices into my computer because there is not a charging dock. I removed the keyboard drawer face because it was inconvenient to open each time I wanted to type on the computer. I found out a chair with arms makes it difficult to use the keyboard tray. Bottom line, good desk.

I love this desk. It has plenty of room for my laptop and still room to lay my files out. Its a beautiful addition to my office.

I am putting together a full home office. This was the first piece of the collection I bought. When I opened the package I was surprised to see scratches and marks especially on the corners. I brushed it off. As I was putting it together I was so upset to realize that one side of the piece is completely unfinished. To stage it the way I want, I will have to buy paint and try to match it. That was really upsetting. After I put it together (I have extensive experience putting together furniture) I was glad I could finally use it. However, I spoke too soon. Now it just falls apart. Literally. I am attaching a picture of the FOURTH time this has happened. I am so upset because I loved this whole collection and Ive never had issues with Sauder products before.

would work ok against a wall, otherwise, unfinished. I asked about getting a veneer strip to finish and was told no.

We bought 2 of these desks for my kids who are in e-learning. We put it together and have nothing but issues with the drawers falling off the desk and hurting my kids. I would definitely not recommend this desk to anyone. Wish I could return it and not of wasted my money on this desk.
